Gifted Basic and Epic Midnight

Gifted a Basic Midnight and later Epic Midnight however since there is no means to gift an Update to Epic from Basic I gifted the full Epic Midnight. Could I have a refund for the unnecessary gifted Basic Midnight. Thanks

Also would stand to reason it’d be rather obvious, programming wise, when an account has both Basic and full Epic that something is a miss and should have only been either an upgrade to Epic or only needed the full Epic.

yes, you can use the self-service refund system to refund the basic edition. IF that doesn’t work, click the ‘I still need help’ button at the bottom of that page. that will allow you to submit a purchase failure ticket. just explain to them what you want.

Thus far the possibly mostly auto response has stated gifted editions are not refundable.

Hopefully someone takes a closer look and backs off the extraneous gifted Basic Edition charge (since that account was also gifted the full Epic edition for the early start). Heck just credit my account and I’ll burn through it in monthly subs. Or the same for my buddy’s account (that was gifted both the Basic and full Epic edition).

then please submit a purchase failure ticket. a HUMAN NON AI GM, should be able to help. And the gifting system can’t tell if the recipient is eligible for the upgrade or not.

This is going to hinge entirely on when the basic edition was purchased and whether the boost was used, I think.

The ticket is recommended, but if it’s outside the 14-day refund window or the boost was used, I don’t recommend getting your hopes up.

The other side of that coin is considering the efficacy of that plan, whether it’s feasible to consider all the logistics required for the system to make that determination for a third-party.

It’s coded that way for purchasing for our own accounts, but it could be deliberately not coded that way for insight into an account that is not our own.

Update - GM advised I’ll need my friend that was gifted both editions to request a refund for the extraneous version. So he’s doing that and referencing the existing ticket.

That worked, friend used purchase failure link and got refund for the extraneous Basic Midnight (seeing as he also has the gifted Epic Midnight Edition)

Rycerz and forum peeps doing customer support while the initial GM response was to go pound sand.. wild.

regardless thanks much. I provided feedback to customer support, for those in similar situations, to recommend having the gift receiver initiate the refund request.
