The frustration is also growing because people are getting annoyed at them dragging their feet in fixing even obvious things not to mention the feedback is largely being ignored for it.
The obvious problems are obvious.
The class design
The azurite system
Are two easy ones that I think most will agree on and they aren’t being addressed effectively or at all.
How many years are y’all going to take before you do actually start communicating better with the player base? Because really bad communication started in WoD with the ignoring and leading us on regarding flying, until finally Ion H. said that y’all weren’t putting flying in WoD, nor ever again in WoW.
That was after thousands of posts on the forums over the entire time period of us waiting from beta to the announcement after at least 6.1. (Same with the gutting that y’all did of so many classes from MoP to WoD; it was tons of feedback just ignored in alpha, beta, and then after launch and what we got was a “you were pruned - not gutted” from the devs.)
Anyway, it’s basically like reading a cut and paste at this point, so I’m done. You know that you’ve messed up; you’ll do better sometime in the future. You know that you don’t communicate, but you’re working on it and it’ll take time, et cetera. We’ve been hearing these things since WoD, so I’m not going to hold my breath that anything of significance will be changing with those things anytime soon.
No direct offense intended towards the CMs but, with all the rumblings of Activision influence and the fiasco of BFA, I would wager that communication actually gets worse.
They been saying it for I say 6 give or take years strongly I never seen any company move this slow in communication. It either they not doing it or something legally forcing them. they not saying. Yeah I do not get why its taking so long. They are not that hugged.
I don’t understand why you state things like that as if it is already a fact? A rough patch doesn’t mean that things will never get better. WoD had a far rougher patch and Legion ended up great. It’s not over until it’s over. You gotta at least hold onto hope for improvement, otherwise why even post here?
I was more referring to your statement that the golden age of Blizzard has ended. That combined with your ‘wager’ implies that you already feel the ship has sailed and they won’t be recovering. If you think Blizzard’s golden age is truly done and over, then why even keep posting to the forums at that point? I personally still have faith that they absolutely can fix the current issues and bring the game back to a much better state just like they have done in the past when they hit rough patches.
And with the amount of feedback they are getting lately, I am pretty sure they want to change their current path, it probably takes a good amount of time to change course though. They can’t just totally scrap a system with nothing better to replace it with, so they do band-aid fixes like the 8.1 azerite changes while they(hopefully) adjust their planning for the future.
Why are you comparing Diablo reactions to BFA? The current state of this expansion has nothing to do with that. These cycles of sub counts and complaints have been normal since the start of WoW and they continue to make changes to reflect criticism. It is too early to judge the entire expansion so your wager is as pointless as your complaints.
I am referring to the large volume of negative feedback, that is giving them a picture of many of the fans not being happy with the current state of the game and some of the design decisions. In beta they only had a very small sample of the playerbase actually giving them feedback.
They are both made by Blizz. After D3 flopped on release, a lot of that D3 team joined the WoW team for help on…WoD.
These games aren’t created in their own vacuums

Some, yes. The biggest complaint i have seen is class design. 8.1 PTR, the patch supposedly for class design, is just numbers tuning. The improving class design so they aren’t doing much about that feedback.
You don’t seem to know what a wager is. Your entire post is pointless.
The complaints are pretty much the same tho. This was one of the shorter dev cycles for an expansion, and it was clearly an unfinished product. So much so, that apologies were made for the state of certain classes at launch.
Again, the PTR changes aren’t addressing MANY of the issues that have been raised since beta.
Taking an obvious prediction and twisting it to be a statement of fact. You blatantly manipulated what I said. If you wish to have pleasant discourse, feel free to do the decent thing and apologize.
Again, the reactions have NOTHING to do with the current state of BFA. Did they boo at the WoW segment? Nope. Get out here with your made up arguments.
Been following the post very closely before my sub expires and regarding the next patch as it stands right now looks like a no for me, even with the CM replying that they do care about feedback and that it isn’t a waste of time posting in here. It’s easy to say “we care” but we’ve been shown time to time that you don’t care, history proves it with BFA alpha and past expansions. If they listened the GCD change would never actually made it to live servers, I’m only pointing one example.
I am not happy with the 8.1 changes, for me personally it doesn’t make the game any better I’m not a PvEr and I honestly couldn’t care less about mythic + vendors. I don’t see any changes for Pvpers and I’m extremely unhappy with the stat balancing in bgs, I don’t see how it’s fair for someone who just hit 120 to do as much as someone who’s been playing the game and grinding gear for months. Besides all the RNG in PvP and the fact that we aren’t getting any vendors, I don’t think I can put up with the absurd RNG grind in PvP arenas and battlegrounds again.
