Perhaps it is because I share a similar background with him which I can relate to. My late father was a lawyer, and I am planning to go back to Law School in the near future as well.
Because I know the amount of work that goes into passing the California Bar Exam, I can respect him and expect that even if we disagree on any given topic; it’s going to be a fact / evidence driven debate much like one would expect from a Court proceeding. Boring to the average player, but very analytical and logical.
When I contrast that with some of my experiences with Ghostcrawler, there is no comparison. I respect Watcher, even if I do not always agree with his ideas or the direction of the game.
The question that comes to my mind is how does ‘analytical and logical’ give rise to spontaneity and unique/novel experiences? My worry like I have posted before is that it will give rise to slow ‘death by committee’. Someone with an MBA and tons of experience can be considered ‘analytical and logical’ but in reality it is more like a kind of lawful neutral/evil due to not being in the business for the right reasons or such.
Its not a good sign. You want proof look at the actively of the blue here. This blue is pretty active all of a sudden and in threads like this one not low ball threads that are fairly safe.
Sounds like bias in his favor based on similar backgrounds and not on any sort of demonstrated ability. I’ve watched the Q&As. I don’t see what you’re seeing. Or maybe you’re seeing what you want to see.
Um, ya. Pretty much everyone involved in these discussions would like to those analytics of how many people are actually still playing. Good luck getting them.
If they were good they would hand the out as a badge of pride. If they are bad good bloody luck.
But I don’t know if you are aware of how it works in some other games but new players are marked with a tag.
Right now in FF14 the amount of sprouts I see is massive its like a wave of refugees. No I am not joking they are everywhere. That is probably a bad sign for this game.
When WoW content creators have nothing but criticism for the game, streamers that have only ever played WoW moving to different games because their viewers are bored and the dev team slowly reverting unpopular changes the introduced via the brand new expansion, ya, the writing is on the wall.
Yeah they needed to do changes ages ago they are dragging their feet.
This is a massive problem. I think most people see the problems they may disagree on what’s a priority or even how to address certain issues but I do think many will agree that the time it is taken to even address things in a half baked way is far too long.
They have sweeping problems and they are playing the wait till the next patch game but 8.1 doesn’t even solve these problems. This kick the can down the road and hope the community doesn’t notice is frankly ridiculous.
Especially since their are legit options else where if they were the only game in town they might be able to get away with it but that hasn’t been the case for awhile now. So I have no idea what on earth they are doing
And you can get a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame if you pay for it and the club likes you enough to give you one. I’d like to see how many people it takes to nominate a game for the Gamer’s Choice Awards because I’m sure that these forums have enough people to do it. (Also, I had never heard of those awards or I’d have been nominating and voting for FFXIV the entire time because I’m actually having fun in that game; I’ve even been laughing and smiling while playing it which is something that I rarely did while soloing in Legion.)
Earthen ring definitely needs a realm merge that’s for sure. It is sometimes nice that it is so peaceful there, but ya the realm needs some serious attention from the devs.
I’m sorry but you’re comparing a situation that we’re in now to a rosy-colored-glasses situation when WoW was in it’s heyday. We’re not there anymore. The negative BfA threads (that are constructive) are here because the players care very much for WoW and are struggling with the state of the game and are trying to voice their concerns to course correct.
Hey, you can keep dismissing the forums as the “vocal minority,” but you know what isn’t wrong?
The metrics, as of the last quarterly report, which are down across the board.
So much for that “vocal minority” claiming that bfa is bad…even actiblizz’s own numbers confirm bfa is bad, and if that 1.7 million number they tried so hard to wipe all traces of is any indicator…it really is that bad.
Well, I think the important thing here is, that going forwa…
