Ghostcrawler Involved With League of Legends MMO

So, following league lore is about as easy as following WoW lore. It’s growing but extensive, and while it does have retcons, they’re “generally” not as controversial as WoW’s.

If you’re too lazy to read all of that (like me), you can watch this guy

Who is LoL’s version of Nobbel. Whether that’s good or bad is up to you.

Feel free to report but we already have a ff14 thread that’s compares WoW. Strange thing to police here.

The funniest thing about League of Legends lore is that the actual “League” of Legends is now non-canon.

Stranger that you don’t understand the concept of posting in the correct place. 5.6 thousand posts and you still don’t get it. Quite strange.

Have you considered reporting and not posting in the thread instead of bumping it to the top of the forum?

I already have reported it but that won’t make the OP understand.

Was Ghostcrawler ever a writer? I thought he mostly did… systems, or something.

I’m pretty sure if the thread gets removed it won’t take a degree in mathematics to understand why.

Yeah, he did gameplay related stuff. Like personally nerf my Hunter because he hated me in particular. (jk)

Honestly, I mostly just remember he was a marine biologist before going to Blizzard, than any specific thing he did at Blizzard. Because that’s a heck of a career change.

While true, the story often had to suffer under game pelay.

As long as I can play as a Yordle, I’d check it out. Poppy is super adorable.

I will say that after checking out a few of the character bios on their website that the writers really like teasing things out. Just about every characters story ends on some kind of “precipice moment” where it feels like it could spin off in any different direction. While the actual games Riot makes means they never have to follow up on it. Until now I suppose or really 4-6 years from now when this MMO, that it seems like they literally just broke ground on, is ready for launch.

Guess then we’ll see how well Riot can end a story. Especially ones that seem built for these characters and not, you know, the nameless, faceless PCs.

I disagree. I’ll not touch this because I don’t like the game - same reason that I’d not, say, wear a Star Trek hat (as someone who is indifferently towards Star Trek). Don’t want to give the wrong impression.

Petty and dumb? Certainly!

It’s going to fail. Well guys if you want a MMORPG with story, FFXIV is there for you

At best it can be a FFXIV-level success. If not that, then at least as successful as GW2 or TESO. There’ll never be another WoW.

I don’t think GC was much of a lore guy.

I did like that he was not afraid to talk about and discuss class balance on the open forum though, something he continued to do in LoL.

Same, and never will considering how toxic the playerbase is.

I played League from 2013 to early 2015-ish.

I got into the game because a character (Vi) had a skin referencing One Piece. Vi became my favorite character and the sole reason i kept playing way after i stopped enjoying the game.

If the game lets me make a crazy martial artist with or without steampunk gauntlets, I’m in.

Honestly, it’s not as bad as it used to be. They’ve been hitting toxicity pretty hard for years and it’s worked out fairly well for them.

It’s about on par with wow’s community these days. (take that as you will)

That’s true. He hurt the lore with his “gameplay before and over lore”.

Gameplay is important of course. But so is a cohesive story.
