I think it was the same with me. I don’t really pay attention to trust levels, but at one point I could post links and now I can’t. /shrug

This all sounds about right.

I hate the idea of just posting the popular opinion, just to get likes. But it sounds like it’d work. Like posting yet another “give worgen tails” thread >.>

Edit: Wait a minute. It says you have to get 20 likes and have given 30. Does that mean it has to be managed every 100 days as well, or is that a one-time thing I can just check off and forget about?

A couple people I know who did just spammed every thread they came across, even if they had no business in it and used multi-box alts to like their own comments. Some others just live here.

This why I think the Blizzard “business model” for the new forums is out of whack.

I’d prefer quality to quantity but I even find myself scrolling down through posts I have no real interest in, posting in threads with homogenized 'Tube clips to parody some sort of topic I may not even care about. All chasing the elusive TL3.

I get the thing about quality over quantity, I do… but there has to be a way to limit the stuff that comes with TL3. There have been people who managed to get it and they used it to post some pretty pervy/gross YouTube videos, and I don’t even think it caught the attention of the mods despite getting flagged.

If they relaxed the requirements I can’t imagine how many more posters with that type of behavior would turn this place into a trash can. It’s already bad enough with some of the spam and angry posts, we don’t need outside sources with much more relaxed rules taking over.

At the end of the day, this website is supposed to be a place to find information, discuss WoW, and submit feedback. If it gets tossed in the mud then it wouldn’t be something they would probably let us keep any more. Just my two cents.

Amen to that. It’s a very odd way to do things. Other places, you can do those things right off the bat but if you screw up, you can lose the privilege.

I too don’t care about having it either. What do you get? You can post images. How often do you see people actually post images that are value-added? I can count on 1 hand with several fingers to spare. It’s mostly people posting memes or insult gifs.

What I was told by a friend that’s also on the forums a lot is it takes 5 flags for something to get seen by the CMs. I have no idea how accurate this is but I will say I flagged someone that kept calling me names and they continued to post after that incident.

Oh don’t get me started on how flagging seems pointless…

Once upon a time you would look at something bad and laugh, or shrug and wave goodbye to the poster because you knew the mods would be on top of it right in the morning, and people actually respected the mods or at least were wary enough that things didn’t get crazy too often. Now, it feels like you have to flag it all so that maybe they will even take notice, but the flags don’t even help.

Just my dumb analysis though. I won’t claim to know a single thing about how stuff works, and I know there is a ton of stuff to sift through here.

I will never obtain TL3. I get suspended for 24 hours all the time because I am edgy

For some reason I did too. I said something that I never thought was even considered against code but apparently it must of been sought by the right snowflakes. Have to love how losely the code is written so they can throw in the ban hammer where it’s really not deserved.

Yeah, I have a stalker that does this. I got a message from 2 separate CMs. One saying that every flag gets looked at and another saying that “if flagged enough, it gets looked at.” Two opposite statements from the same group of employees. That topped with the fact that cliques can “fake” flag you and get you infracted makes the system a joke.

A CM confirmed that you can get it back or still get it even if suspended. They would not say how much longer it would take. It’s apparently “too harsh” to permanently take it away from someone yet I’ve seen trolls and stalkers who have earned it :ok_hand:

It’s well known that infractions are not handed out evenly or fairly. One guy cracks a small joke (not even derogatory) and gets silenced or suspended (even though CMs crack jokes too) yet someone stalks you, calls you derogatory/racists names and nothing happens :joy:

Easiest way is to go to your character profile and add .json to the end of the url, then do ctrl-f to search the text for “trust”. One of the last ones will be your trust level.

Okay it seems that I am Trust Level 2 based on that but it’s as confusing as anything, one minute it says 0 then 1 then the last number is level 2.

Look, I’d love to be trust level 3 again but I’m moving house tomorrow and got no idea if/when I will get internet set up at the new place I’m just grateful I can take my computer with me. This old computer seems to have some trouble connecting to the WIFI.
