Getting taxed 2x buying a token

If my state does it then they’ll be taxing my gold which is kind of silly.

Hold up!

People still go to GameStop?

Talk to your state representative. They are the ones who decided to tax gift cards and virtual goods. All in the name of schools, law enforcement and better roads for you.

Blizzard definitely charges sales tax on game time purchased with Bnet bucks.

There are 5 states that don’t have sales tax you could always say you live in one of those. I live in Oregon and never get taxed.

No blizzard does not charge sales tax. Blizzard collects sales tax as required by local laws to give to the government.

Yo then I’m getting scammed because none of those are better despite virtual sales and gift card use skyrocketing.

Must just be the state I live in, but I never have to pay taxes on digital services.

It’s really the politicians who are greedy, not necessarily taxation itself.

Tax money pays for a lot of public works and services that wouldn’t otherwise be available.

Politicians use that money to buy houses, take luxury vacations and accept millions of dollars from their parties for speaking at events and making meaningless speeches.

Blizzard doesn’t have to “collect” from customers the sales tax that they remit to most of the states. They could pay it out of the sales price like retailers who have ‘no sales tax’ promotions and sales.

But Blizzard is. They are charging us the sales tax.

I said in “the name of…” That doesn’t mean they actually spend the money on that. They will tend to divert it to their donors and other benefactors. Never trust a politician, regardless on what they declare as their affiliation.

i use paypal for blizz stuff, i have to confirm every payment:P

So basically you’re upset that Blizzard isn’t paying your taxes for you?

what do you think they’re going to do with it?

As long as the sales tax charged gets to the right place, it’s good.

Just a matter of time before they catch up with the rest of the states. Too much money to leave on the table.

if you have an issue with what and how purchases are taxed, take it up with your state/county/city.

Try living and owning a home in New Jersey than talk to me about tax being way to much.
