Can a healer queue for 2s skirms?
Surely the masses could change their stance on Tanks in PVP with some serious attention + tuning. Which by the looks of it, switching positions is an easier option.
What’s next Rogues start taking a healers spot, because they are hard to balance?
No, no. You don’t get it. Having infinite guardians, DS, blanket silence, multiple forms of CC, giant instant cast heals, sacs, Bops, etc. and being completely free from worrying about going OOM into any fight–ever, (also let’s not forget that most Prot comps did nothing but run in and drop Ashen or throw Blessing on a hyper tuned DPS, and popped everything they had on their keyboard hoping to overwhelm wins in the first 20 seconds) has nothing to do with it.
They were pioneers, figuring out how to make an impossible situation work. Damn it, man.
It’s literally the spec Russian boosters use to carry people to Gladiator on, but it’s the most challenging to play of all time.
Shadowlands did wonders for the real estate market in Venezuela.
And what class does pikaboo one shot people on in his viewer carries to 2.1? I can list all of the rogue abilties that we all hate as you did for paladin, or talk about outlaw rogues last season, but we all saw it with our own eyes and that would take too long to type out.
Give every class a Pile Bunker ability/spell? except for Tanks of course.
I was in AV the other day on my Blood DK, I was coming accost the field of strife by myself when a Rogue jumped me. Both of us clearly geared the dance of death began. We fought for 5 full min trying our best to kill each other. Everyone screams that this class needs nerfed or that class needs nerfed because they are not Balanced. Well if you can 1v1 for 5 full minutes is that not as close as you can ever get to perfect balance? I don’t know who that Rogue was but I hope he had as much fun as I did in that fight. My hand was tired after it was over lol.
From what I’ve heard it’s actually quite good / fun. Mine has been fun while leveling, but the gameplay feels a little clunky compared to Fury / Arms between procs / larger cooldowns.
Something thats always made my money and times worth in wow are the random and unprovoked 1v1 encounters. Either in BG’s or WPvP.
5 minutes seems like a good time frame for a blood DK. Used to duel them in cata and it’d take better part of an hour.
Tanks should be removed from pvp.
remove healers from pvp to and ill agree to it.
Healers arent tanks.
Can a tank queue with a healer for arena? Im not a tank player so im not familiar
yes they can. happens all the time. They just dont get very far because it doesnt work. Tanks dont do enough damage when dampening hits.
Right but you just equated tanks and healers. “Remove healers” as if thats equivalent to removing tanks.
So how is it fair for these two roles to queue together.
Woudnt that be the same as two healers queueing? Thought that was banned for a reason.
Problem with tanks is there’s such a fine line balancing between their being worthless and OP. The other problem is healers are the tanks of PvP, they have the best taunt in the game.
The game was never made to be fair. The game has never been balanced. I didn’t say that tanks and healers were the same. I just said that if you remove tanks then remove healers too. Those were your own assumptions.
Once tanks and healers are out, would the game be more fair then? Should we then start removing ferals, rets and shaman because they can heal more than other classes?
I like the idea of tanks in BGs as flag carriers and a form of front line support but it’s not easy to balance them when they’re the Gods of PvE. It’s not too different with healers, difference between squishy and immortal is fine.
I made my warrior with the idea I’d run them as a tank but it wasn’t a good time for warrior tanks in BGs (was there ever a good time?) so I ran arms. Funny thing, I wanted a dwarf and, since female dwarfs are so rare, made one of those. Her taunt was strong, I’d get people chasing me the whole BG if I killed them. Just couldn’t handle being beaten by a little girl, I guess.
Yes, I think tanks should have a role in BGs but they need to improve upon this complicated taunting system. I’m getting the hang of it, mogging my tanks to look like healers. EDIT: If you do enough healing HHTD will register you as a healer, or at least it did. Similarly, when I focused dps and proc healed it registered my healer as dps but I only remember seeing it once. Free cast heals but a one trick pony since it switched my assignment.
Vanilla / Tbc / Wotlk.
Basically before blizzard gave up on the original class & spec design and started heavily homogenizing everything. Before cata every spec had clear and defined things they were good at & restrictions, some classes simply couldn’t do things.
Like druids could be healers but couldn’t dispel magic. Or rogues were dps so we had no way of healing.
Wotlk prot with dps gear equipped was just a dps class with a defensively strong toolkit. Really engaging to play, and oppressive to fight into. But because they had to wear all the pve gear to get the damage they needed, they were killable.
Can’t really speak to prot paladin or bear ferals.
DK was a thing of its own. Blood even had a proper dps spec for pve.
wRONG
people hate on tanks because:
1- they are NOT fun to play with or against, literally, its anti fun for EVERYONE other then the tank itself.
2-They cant be balanced…you cant do the same dps as a dps or your are op…and you cant do the same healing as ahealer or you are op…without one or the other you wont be viable in pvp, because being a meat shield with some utility wont ever be viable either…therefor , ina mmo settintg, for competitive pvp at least in an arena format, THEY CANT BE BALANCED…hence why whenever they were “viable” they were op/broken…doing too much dam/healing and VERY overrewarding (since it was NEVEr ever hard to do it…)
Makes sense, I made her right after they were powerful.
I think it’s part design philosophy that they don’t make boost roles. When I started there was a big debate about paladin and shaman dps given they were meant as more support roles. When they relented and brought their dps in line with other classes they removed a lot of party utility. That’s too bad, it would have been another piece to move when things are close.
