Getting random disconnects during the day

I think i get randomly disconnected from the game, sometimes this issue is so frustrating especially when i am engaged in PVP combat.

All works great until everyone around me starts walking on the same place, my spells just run the animation and no other effects after that. Only chat is working and game alerts like someone grabs the flag or taking a tower.

I close the game, play for 10-15 seconds until everything starts as described more up.

I thought my internet is disconnecting, then i took this wow IP(137.221.105.2 (US West), 24.105.62.129 (US Central)) i found on internet and let it ping for a while, when game lagged and disconnected i went to check the ping logs, not a single timeout.

All this is happening randomly during the day, it happen in the morning, afternoon and evenings too. Some days are lag free.

Restarted the network router, restarted my network card, renew IP, flushed DNS, followed all the advises i could get on this forum.

WOW in firewall is on allow list, no other programs running while playing, etc.

I am playing from eastern Canada.

Literally have no idea what else i could try on my side. When wow is lagging like that, i can browse internet without any issues, watch YouTube etc, so internet connection is not under the question.

Also one important thing i have noticed, that this lags are never twice a day, so if it happen this morning after that i play without any issues the rest of the day.

Thanks.

Hey Demidead,

Can you post the WinMTR test results so we can see what’s happening on the route?

To do this, download WinMTR and type the server IP in the “Host” field. Click start, then play for about 20 minutes after you get issues, then click on “Copy text to clipboard”. Come back to the forum and paste the results between two sets of four squiggly lines. For example :

Is this the correct IP for eastern Canada 24.105.62.129 ?

I should run it again when the game will lag, this past 20 min no issues encountered.

Run one more test when i got the lag, the lag does not last more than 30 min. After that i can play without any issues.

You can check down the WinMTR results.

Also i forgot to mention one more thing, when it lags i get zero ms with world and 40ms with home. If that is for any help.

Demidead,

It looks like your problems start before you even leave your router. There’s a large latency spike there, what looks like dropped packets, and it seems to be happening enough to drive your average latency in game up. What happens when you power cycle your router, and if you’re using wifi, swap to an ethernet cable? How about if you reset your UI, in case it’s actually corruption of your game data instead of a connection issue at all? Can you re-run the winMTR and catch a disconnection if you’re still having problems then?

  1. Powering off the router does not help.
  2. I was thinking about that option, i am over wifi now.
  3. Tried to reset UI, does not help at all, cleared the cache and all that stuff.
  4. Last lag that lasted for 30 min was on Friday, 14 June.
  5. Since then i have changed my DNS from 1.1.1.1 to 8.8.8.8, but i doubt it was that.

Yeah, I agree, DNS changes are unlikely to cause this kind of problem unless the DNS you’re using has a bad routing table or something like that, but both of those DNSes you used in the past are pretty widely used without issues most of the time. Let’s swap over to the ethernet cable and retest with winMTR if that fails.

A post was merged into an existing topic: Common Factor ae1-br01-eqch2.as57976. net

Over the cable, got the same issue, now at 11:10PM Montreal time.

I have seen multiple posts concerning random disconnects. I rather think it has more to do with updates than peoples PCs and ISPs. I have been disconnecting every minute or two and then can run for a few hours then disconnecting then running fine etc etc etc. Always happens just after a new update, and since there have been 3 updates this week alone - it’s regular.

Demidead,

If you caught a disconnection with that test, there’s nothing there which explains it. At this point it’ll probably be better for you to open a ticket with our support team so we can look for other files, as we aren’t tracking any errors in your region.
