Except if you are on the 12 month plan and DIDN’T cancel, you’re still on the same plan and you get the mount.
They are indeed punishing us for cancelling the plan within the first 6 months.
You will not change my mind on this. They are actively punishing people who have bad memories and can’t leave things on auto renew.
As I said in the CS forums, this isn’t the same thing as the last 6 month mounts, because this is the first time there’s been a 12 month sub. You are comparing apples to oranges in this case.
It makes sense to require an active 6 month sub when the only option is 6 months. But when there’s an option for 12 months and I still have 5-6 of those months left - it shouldn’t be required that auto renew is still on. period.
So I have a problem with your rules Blizzard, I still have over 6 months left on my 1 year sub and while I did turn off the automatic renewal what would it have mattered? I could have cancelled the day before and I would have still received the mount. This is unfair and I should receive said mount.
Will only receive with " 12-month recurring subscription with a future renewal date "
We bought the same exact thing as the people who are getting the mount for free from the 12-month sub.
But we’re being treated like second-class players because we have the foresight to cancel our subscriptions so we aren’t blindsided by a random $150 charge a year later when we forget about it. (And AGAIN, a lot of people have memory problems, this is quite literally an ableist policy, as you’re targeting people with bad memories who make adjustments [aka cancelling auto renewals asap to cope with it].)
If we had left the sub active until today then cancelled it today - we’d still get the mount and be in the same exact situation.
…no? I have a horrible memory, so I cancel every single auto renew I ever do immediately.
Because otherwise I will forget and it will come out when I am not expecting it, and as someone on a very limited income, it can screw me over and literally make me not have food for a few days.
And something like the 12 month sub coming out would literally make me not have rent money.
When you have a bad memory, you cancel things like auto renew immediately, otherwise you end up regretting it.
And for the record, I’d have zero issue if this was strictly a 6-month sub mount and was not given to any 12-month sub people. But they gave it to 12 month sub people who didn’t cancel.
Which is completely unfair to those of us that cancelled for reasons like bad memories.
There are numerous tools available for you to use if you are having trouble keeping track of subscriptions. There are calendars available in physical and digital forms. There are Post-It notes you can stick on your monitor. Blizzard has plainly stated the terms if you want the incentive.
