As far as the server is concerned, you’re casting your heals AS they died, actually.
Again, that’s your fault, not the servers’. You shouldn’t be waiting until someone is dead to heal them.
Even if you don’t like the system (perfectly fine to admit), it’s not RNG, and it won’t be changing.
