I reported each one I got for Spam and Adverising, and added “RMT ad” in the description.
You are correct - that change wouldn’t fix botting at all. If they make that change it would be to try and keep the prices high because of the disaster which is the region wide auction house and even then with botters that is doubtful that would happen.
That would be a terrible decision on Blizzard’s part but they did bring back need/greed so why stop there.
You don’t understand what you’re saying at all. Gold inflation only happens if botters are generating gold in game, which they definitely don’t if they’re botting crafting mats and selling on the AH. Unless they’re vendoring the ores and herbs which they’re not.
There was always some bot in Bastion farming away, even on the low pop server I play on there was one.
Some ppl may think bots are simple scripts which some are but they can do way more then that.
I like that idea.
I used to have blacksmithing and jewelcrafting back when profession perks were actually pretty good. I just mined on an alt. Eventually though I dropped JC (I think WoD for the BoP thingies) and I wouldn’t mind having it back. ![]()
I never could figure out why they made gathering a main profession in WoW.
Its just gathering. its not making anything.
Actually, I would like for the gathering professions to be secondary. However, in my case the reasoning is different. Imagine if there were some crafting that could only be done by someone with dual professions. An example could be some steampunk contraption that require both engineering AND enchanting to make.

Well, here’s the interesting detail on this.
Before, every server would have some level of bot activity.
Now, it’s not necessary. Any server can have bot activity and fuel the nationwide AH.
Now, I don’t know if the bot runners just migrate their bots to the lowest pop servers and go to town or what, but in this new age of “remote working”, they can now be anywhere for things like herbs and mining.
How bout no, I enjoy herbing and mining.
Wouldn’t solve anything anyway, bots are just a part of online gaming, every big online game has a bot issue.
What is not helping now is all the NA AH are combined together so the players are fighting not against 1 or 2 realms but every realm in NA now.
I like gathering professions. They add a depth to the game. If it was just a secondary profession everybody had, it would be boring, there would be no need to have gathering alts, the prices would drop even more, it would narrow down profession choice.
Saying that, I rarely actually enjoy purposefully gathering mats for my crafting. It feels way too slow with all the competition. It’s more of a relaxation on the side, or a side thing to do when in the world, pocket gold. So maybe there is some truth to having it as a secondary profession. But I still like the idea of dedicating a profession slot to it, because of RPG reasons. I feel kind of special when I have gathering, because usually people take two crafting professions.
I’d like to have a bot run siege of org for me so I don’t have to lol. I’m burnt out on running this for tusks of mannoroth.
Except that it is Supply an demand OR THAT AH is regional now, we have more going in via players then whats going out, esp now that m+ an raid should be slowing down. Ofc its gona catch up less ppl playing but the large amount of resources is still fairly the same.
People are still farming but the amount sold is so cheap because of that.
They could simply bake gathering into the respective production professions. Herbalism with Inscription and Alchemy. Mining with Blacksmith, Engineering, and Jewelcrafting. Skinning with Leatherworking and Tailoring.
That was something I really liked in WoD
Yes bot gold is extremely cheap in comparison, I had this argument with a friend of mine.
Tokens at the time I checked were around 125k gold for 20$ obviously it spikes an changes depending on NA/EU.
However straight from G2G. 500k is 22.05-26.50$ its a massive gap. Which I suspect with how many offers they list… per server for coverage this is normal for them.
Not exactly sure how Blizzard would handle all this or even if they did would any notice an still blame bots in AH.
I honestly couldn’t say where it was I heard it except likely in a video/interview - so you can take that as you will. This was a few months back when the signs of botter-gathering takeover was being noticed on the AH.
Given dev track rate, would it really be surprising if they did that though? ![]()
This is a circumstance I’d be happy to be wrong in.
How would blacksmithing and alchemy work? What resources would they use, and where would you get them?
Funny enough, skinning is turning around on my server and it’s one of the easiest things to farm in high quantities still - more so with better gear now. I went from selling dense hide for like 60g to 210g in a few weeks. No one is doing the daily rares for the big skin gains anymore, but that’s good income if you do the route once a day. Easy 5-10k worth of junk and skins for minimal effort.
I don’t skin for profit often, but I’ll throw 15-20 min at it here or there for the skill points twice a week amd I always make like 1-2k every session. Literally 5k worth of mats and vendor trash that requires zero thought. I 3-4 global almost everything, and do large aoe pulls around my CD windows. Easy money, much better than SL.
