I think the fewer players issue has more to do with the level of entry to wow in general. If you’re ui doesn’t look like a cockpit you probably aren’t doing something vital like tracking d/r, team cc, enemy cds, etc. Not really sure if there is a viable solution when new players can just go play a plethora of free mobile games that only require 1-2 fingers.

Add-ons won’t fix floor level bad decisions though. Whether it’s watching your teammate for signs of trouble, or pushing when you should be defensive… To like, the most super basic of class things like being a warlock and NOT putting down a soulwell so your teammate(s) can get a HS, which lord knows can come in handy in a pinch (I have seen this, numerous times… the lock will create their own HS but not bother with a well for the team). And god forbid you try to be actually helpful with advice.
I have seen A.D.D. toddlers take suggestions better than some of the new players in this game. They take it as a personal attack when you say something like, I don’t know… “just a heads up, if their whole team is around a corner, it is probably a trap… take care not to push into the trap”
