So tired of these posts and posting about it! Dumb server with 0 raids at all, anytime of day, nobody even pvps so don’t even try that crap, just a server of like 10 kids in the chat all day.

Yeah, I’d almost say there’s a conspiracy going on where people are trying to make it out as though they would rather play on a Normal server than a PvP server, so others will follow.
Are people really suddenly just trying to get off grob? It’s where I transferred my MoP characters, because I wouldn’t want to play on a Normal server. Another thread suggested that Alliance is the bigger faction due to Human racials in PvP. Is PvP that big of a deal that it would cause faction imbalance, when Horde has the better racials for PVE content, like raiding?
Anyway, while fundamentally I dislike the idea that anyone would want to willingly transfer from a PvP server to a normal one, I agree that it should be an option.

TBF we’ve been trying to get off Grobb since before Firelands when the population took a nosedive.
In terms of racials, you are correct; human is bis for pvp and horde racials are better for pve. However, most of the raiders moved off the server during cata/early mop and the rest want to leave and join them on the mega server. With Grobb becoming the only pvp server, ally has taken over and and the server is now 60/40 (likely worse if not for the balance mechanisms). It’s unfortunate but just the way it is right now with the state of the server.

What prevented you from doing this? As far as I know, they only locked paid server transfers recently when they implemented the server consolidations.
It’s not “just the way it is” right now. It was a conscious decision by the developers to make it out as though the Normal server was the only place to go, to provide a bunch of “virtual” realms, and to even make posts as though that is the only place to transfer to.

The $500+ dollars it would cost to transfer my characters. Unfortunately it’s just way too much money. Shrug. If WOW tokens could have been used on in game services like transfers, I would have been long gone.
I’m not disagreeing with you as the devs left few options for the playerbase but it’s basic human nature of safety in numbers. Players on the one-sided servers prioritize raiding over pvp and the cross-realm server had the highest probability of the highest population and long term survival. Reducing the chance of having to transfer yet again would play a big factor in deciding on where to transfer and that is what played out with the vast majority choosing the cross-realm server.

Its just pretty trashy to not give one server the option on the planet because of some bs like this that is all. Let grobbulus live on if it survives the open transfer. If it dies because its opened that pretty much sums it up that not enough people wanted it. Seems pretty clear doesn’t it? People actually choose and you see where the chips actually lay. Right now we just refuse to let it play out.. and I think we know why..

We can’t even pay to escape this server. We’re trapped on a dead realm that’s bleeding players every day, and Blizzard’s just letting it rot. There’s zero world PvP — not because people don’t want it, but because there’s literally no one left. The Horde side’s a ghost town. It feels like we’ve been abandoned while everyone else gets to play the actual game. Merge us with the rest of the player base before there’s no one left to save.
Suddenly? My guy raiders have been trying to get away from Grob for a long time.

I paid for PAID character transfer and still can’t leave Grobbulus yet. I feel kidnapped.
