Brennadam.
He also wears a maid uniform and says “welcome home”.
I want that image on a shirt.
Dude, nothing is being used to the extent possible.
It’s kinda weird they give such a biased retelling of the events. Wouldn’t you want to know what actually happened? Not some drunk down at the pub embellishing of the truth.
“Never Trust an Elf.” -Gimli, son of Gloin.
Does this make Anduin the “Master Of Puppies”?
I mean did you see how Anduin commanded Genn to sit during the BfL cinematic finale?
Why wait for a book? Warcraft: Reforged is the perfect opportunity for us to experience the storyline as it was always meant to be. I can’t wait for Daelin (and probably Garithos) to actually have been great people all along.
Daelin probably was a great dude
Just not for the Horde
Wrong elf faction there traitor. Its the Sun Priests that have that brainwashing power not you.
Void elves try those techniques enjoy the bursts of fel energy tearing you apart as your void clashes with the light your trying to channel.
Using the void for control or information also runs the risk of getting insane void gibberish back rather than truth.
Counting down the moments when void elves blow up in the Alliance’s face, or when the Lightforged decide they’ve had enough teaming with them.
Of course, still counting the moments until a worgen loses his calm, goes feral, and guts a Stormwind bystander.
No guarantees, I guess.
Such is the nature of torture in general.
Sorry, but the Magister who did the Brainwashing in the Bazaar was using Shadow. It’s always the Shadow Spec which has the mind-altering powers, not the Light. Considering Void is now banned in Silvermoon, I wonder if you guys lost your Mind Police?
Shadow Spec Spells:
Psychic Scream
Mind Control
Mind Vision
Mind Blast
Mind Sear
Mind Flay
Talents:
Fortress of the Mind
Shadow Word: Void (attacks the target’s mind)
Dominant Mind
Psychic Voice
Mind Bender
Void Ray (affecting Mind Flay)
Shadowy Insight (affecting Mind Blast)
On top of that regular, given void insanity. Plus there is always the critical failure chance of in goes torture subject out comes a dangerous tentacled abomination that in some forgotten Old God language is now saying “The Old One demands you be punished for resisting their call”
Shadow spec is not a cannon spec for most priest orders. Plus given how Shadow/Void magic is a banned art in Quel’thalas it is certainly light based.
Shadow Priest mental powers are also short term and direct control
Also Yrel and her light crusade say hi, on the subject of how persuasive light magic can be.
Sorry, but it’s all there. Shadow Magic is the mind affecting power on that spectrum. I guess Quel’Thalas just doesn’t have that anymore. Don’t worry, we’ll be sure to put it to good use.
So you’re equating what amounts to personality/emotional manipulation to Mind Affecting powers? We’ve always known the Light affects emotions, it runs off of emotions. This was rather well described the time Anduin raised Varian in Varian’s short-story from Cataclysm.
This has always been the divide between Shadow/Light. One is based on the mind, the other on the soul (emotions).
Come crawling faster
Obey your master
Your life burns faster
Obey your master
Master!
Master of puppets I’m pulling your strings
Twisting your mind, smashing your dreams
Blinded by me, you can’t see a thing
Just call my name, 'cause I’ll hear you scream
Master!
Void and Light are opposite sides of the same coin. Hence why they’ve been eternally at war, since their opposing perspectives to the same concepts.
Your mind/emotion seperation falls apart when you look at how most people who fell to the void did so due to emotional reasons, such as loss, fear, desperation. Seeing the void whisper to Alleria in the comic we also see it plays mostly on emotion not rational mental thought.
The key difference here is that while the Void may have sway over negative emotions, it is driven through the mind. Of course, this is why those who master the Void are capable of doing so; they master their emotions and control the power through their minds. The Void works through the mind, it targets the mind.
The Light works through emotions, through the Soul. A lot of light-based abilities affect the soul. Power Word: Shield is directly using one’s soul. This is how the Lightbound/Lightforged end up so zealous, and as crusaders. The soul is afflicted with those emotions, distilling in people feelings of righteousness and zeal.
I’ve stated before what a world conquered by the Light would be like as an antagonist. Imagine everyone happy, and only able to be happy. Everyone has their mandated duty they go about performing, perfectly happy. It strips them of their individuality, and they cannot feel emotions such as sadness or fear.
Azshara being able to mind control people through her Arcane mastery is also another proof that Mind Control is not a Void only feat.
This all falls under the same concept as how spheres other than light can heal/restore.
Light/Void/Arcane they all have been shown the ability to achieve mind control/alteration the sphere you use merely determines the means through which you reach the end result.
While different powers are capable of the same feats, there are different ways and degrees of effectiveness. The Light can manipulate emotions to control someone, while the Void can just dominate their mind to achieve the same effect, arguably better.
I maintain that what the Light does is emotional manipulation, not Mind Control. The end result may be similar, but it’s not the same.
A few days light but I stumbled upon the source I was looking for that states Shadow/Void Magic affects the mind while Light is more the Soul.
Is there a reason that many priest spells, especially shadow priest spells, have names that refer to psychic phenomena like “ [Mind Spike]” or “ [Psychic Horror]”? Are priests implicitly telepaths?
The Light is often said to bring about feelings of positive emotion— hope, courage, comfort— and the like. Shadow abilities are just the opposite, able to impart feelings like despair, doubt, and panic. In a poetic sense, it can be said that the emotions which the Light brings about come from the “heart,” whereas the emotions manipulated by shadow are often based on survival logic, and therefore affect the “mind.” That said, priests and their abilities are not necessarily always psychic or telepathic in nature.
