Gearing an alt in PVP seems incredibly painful, time consuming and border line punishing right now

I have hated this style of PvP gearing system since the crap was introduced in BFA…

Sounds like you already had a toon with conquest stacked up to do that, doesn’t sound like OP does.

the blue gear fully upgrades is equal to last season’s duelist

the disadvantage is negligible for the first few weeks of the season.

the lego grinding would exist regardless of content unless you already had the memory.
if you have a main they could be sitting on the currency needed to make them.

if you have 10k… i forgot the currency but any how, you can get max level conduits. no other requirements.

its the easiest its been this expansion.

and in DF the pvp honor gear should be baseline (example ref) Heroic gear in pvp and conquest mythic gear in pvp. no rating gating so a full set of conquest gear “should” (less something changed) be an even playing field as far as gear ilvl goes.

It seems people who decided to gear a fresh alt this season are set back behind everyone else, especially regarding tier sets. You’re just set back by weeks without tier since you can only get one conq piece at a time and if you’re lucky you’ll get another in the vault. Not to mention people last season retain the honor they had. I agree that it costs way too much honor to upgrade individual items + extremely time consuming to just get on a slightly even playing field.

Dragonflight pretty much adresses the pvp gear issue and will be going back to a system that much better.

The irony of calling someone lazy for not playing a video game as much as they do is incredible.

The first week of the season is the most equal in terms of gear.

Starting on Tuesday, you will start seeing people with 311 ilvl 2hand weapons and/or 311x2 1handers. This is when the pain will really begin.

Yup, can’t wait for dragon flight!

It’s not ironic at all, as I mentioned getting PvP gear in the first week of the season with a 50% bonus to honor is not that hard. I play 2 hours a night, I was even off for 2 nights this week and look at my gear.

OP is having a whinge that he can’t completely gear up his alt in less than a couple of hours, I’m sorry but that is f”&$n LAZY!!

Is it?? I thought they said it was going to be like wod, you get your conq set and dont have to upgrade it like we have to now

Honour gear is a trap, honestly better just to get what PvE you can and get conq when you can.

Having geared friends is also incredibly useful… lol

I think what he is referring to is that right now, everybody is basically on the same footing since it is the first week of the season and honor gear is equivalent to last seasons BiS. Aside from the people no-lifing M+, basically every PvPer is at the same ilvl right now assuming they have either duelist gear from last season or honor gear from this one, the only exception of course being tier if you didn’t make it last season.

The game in DF should be similar to how it is now (as in right now, this week), with most people having the same or similar ilvl due to only two sets. The current situation in SL will of course change as people get conquest, but the first week or two is pretty even ground for mostly everyone.

Its not that bad, honestly! Ive geared several freshly boosted 60 alts to full 7/7! If youre horde, just mercenary mode for fast Epic Battlegrounds and enjoy free honor win or lose for doing absolutely nothing …most of the time  sure youll be food for the strong but theyll enjoy killing you and everyone gets to be happy and before you know it youll be just as strong! :dizzy: :rabbit:

Its even easier if youre alliance with the 50% honor boost! Just sit on a turret or hop in a vehicle and than gear no longer matters.

Its a video game my dude, its not a matter of lazy. You arent “working” its just unfun.

So because it’s a video game and not real life work, people are entitled to a full set of gear for not doing anything? I’m not sure what you’re trying to say.

The game functions the same it always has, put in the effort, get the gear…that’s it. If the OP can only play for 3 hours a week but still wants everything handed to him, I dunno what to tell you.

Hyperbole on hyperbole upon hyperbole.

Incredibly untrue.

Well let me break it down in an eloquently descriptive way:
Pvp gearing sucks right now with rating gating.
Dragonflight is removing rating gating (how the game was pre Legion) so OP and about 90% of the player base get what they want.

It is, with the removal of rating gating my sub was saved.
Also love your name, not many other Tool fans around here.

Yup WoD was an awesome expansion to me overall as a pvper so having that WoD like system coming back for DF and no more borrowed power got me wanting to buy DF. I’m not playing retail tho till then, f season 4.
