I also enjoy a nice farm during my free time. It’s not always how I spend my time, but I just enjoy the act of playing my character in the world. Wow is a fun game to play, imo. Controversial opinion I know.

Bragging about how your degenerate loot system completely breaks the economy and the concept of farming only helps prove why it should have been and ultimately was justifiably banned.

OP these kind of posts make me lose more hope in gamers as a whole. Everything doesn’t need to be instant gratification with transactions. This game is a MMOrpg for a reason. Go interact, farm, enjoy the content, play with friends. If your goal is to just log in, look for a quick few gold, and log out, then I guess that’s your version of “fun” but it sure doesn’t sound like you’re having it

Nope, I just came back for classic-wrath relaunch and wanted to try SoD out.
There has been no difference in the game other than less gdkp ads in trade chat in phase 2… the ban was stupid, bots are as bad or even worse than ever. People are still buying gold, you guys just create your own narrative and believe what you want.
1000g is an exaggeration obviously, but a sweaty player could easily rack up 100s of gold.
Gnomer crafting profession patterns cost 25g each, often with professions have 2-3 each. So that’s easily 150g just on recipes to buy at the beginning. It’s even more if you’re engineering and buy the schematics for bombs or enchanting for the formulas.
Then you have the mats themselves that are required to make the gear. If you tried to get this gear really early on (it’s finally coming down in price a bit), the salvage boxes were easily going for 25g+. Even just this weekend it was like 18g on my server. If you’re buying the mats for two crafted items (1 per meta profession), you’re easily looking at 400g (200g in mats for each item).
Then look at consumes each week. Nature prot pots (~50s each), fire prot pot (~1g), Agi pot (~1g), Strength Scrolls (~2g), health/mana pots (~1g each), wep oils (~1-2g), buff food (~50s ea), faps (~30s ea), bombs (~30s ea), etc. That could reasonably add up to 25g per raid.
Then you have all the new enchants you have to get, which altogether can run you 30g +.
Point is, it’s absolutely not cheap to be raid ready if you’e sweaty and optimize all consumes/enchants/profs.
Please explain. I think it’s the best loot system barring the exploitive nature of rmt/bots.
Your… arguement? makes zero sense. How are you going to buy the gear with gold if you don’t FARM… the gold then? Playing AH works but that still takes time lol. you’re basically screaming you buy gold at this point.

farming is unironically one of my favourite things to do in wow
My first raid to gnomer I used 2 fire damage pots 2 arcane elixer pots and 2 wizard oil charges. I only needed a second pot because we took longer than 30min.
You don’t need protection pots. The instance is easy. Just do mechanics.
You missed the part where I said “if you want to be sweaty” and raid more competitively (i.e., parsing).
Yes, You don’t need ideal comps. You don’t need a bunch of range. You don’t need meta tanks. You don’t need much of anything to clear gnomer. It’s easy.
But ‘good enough’ to clear isn’t enough for many people’s raid expectations. Unless you’re in a dad guild (which is fine), you are expected to use consumes (ESPECIALLY in pugs).
These kinds of posts should restore it. Look at the backlash these posts get. RMTr’s are a definite minority of the community, they just have an outsized impact on it. And now they rage at having to play the game rather than swipe their way to victory.

People dont understand that even without gdkps people are still buying gold because classic is just expensive as hell and most people that play the game have other responsibilities now vs 15 years ago and can’t just play the game all day. But no one wants to have that conversation they just want to blame everything on gdkps, there definitely isn’t people buying gold for consumes and mounts etc. /s
