It’s in NA, but we have another AU player who has recently joined and says that the latency isn’t too bad. I don’t want to misquote them but I feel like no higher than 250ms and supposedly quite playable. Which, I must say, is much better than the 450+ ms I got back when I played on Remulos for a bit.
I figure it’s worth a shot at least.

I know there are easy / west / central servers. One of them gives Australians 150ms which is very playable
The server timezone is pacific, but I’m not sure where exactly it’s hosted.
I live in Michigan and get consistent ping of about 75ms. If I open a ping check through CMD to 137.221.105.2, which is part of Blizzards internal infrastructure, I get similar ping times which indicates it’s likely hosted on the west coast, but my ISP may be doing something funky with the packet. If I ping test servers in Chicago I get around 30ms ping.

I don’t know where it’s hosted either, just that it’s a pacific timezone server. Sorry, I don’t have any better info here. Best bet is to just pop on and make a character, then see what your latency is. If it sucks, well, at least you know!
