You are actually brain dead if you think Blizzard have or are willing to use the man power to police this. They lay off half their staff and you think some slave employee is going to go over screenshots people send in? It’s literally just going to be mass reports for people advertising in LFG, like it has always been during classic.

The only reason they even implemented this is because they’ve received so many reports for GDKPs and its not against TOS so they get a ton of appeals when people have been auto-flagged by mass reporting. thats time and money wasted on manual staff resolutions - this stops people from being able to appeal and eliminates having to deal with GDKP mass-reporting bans

Prohibition is completely stupid. It will just make people form GDKPs “underground” and not fix the root of the issue which is botting and gold selling. If they don’t find a way to effectively ban bots or gold selling nothing changes

Only takes 1 person to SS the “underground raid” (hahahah, sounds so ridiculous) and they all get banned.

Dont think this underground stuff will survive. Much like the Kumite street fights in Hong Kong during the 1990. This wont last.

Gallywix repeatedly banned until permabanned because leakers kept getting into their community inner circles and proving that they were RMT based.

There’s always someone willing to fall on the metaphorical sword to infiltrate the community and expose the cheaters.

I imagine this is the biggest positive PR move Blizzard has pulled in nearly a decade.

The entirety of the honest playing video gaming community absolutely hates GDKP because of the RMT aspect.

Blizzard lost the faith of the community. They lost trust from the player base by continuing to allow manipulation/cheating/botting/RMT/GDKPs to go on unpunished for so long.

This is the first massive neon-lit “W” they’ve chalked up in a long time. This is the first action of regaining player trust they’ve taken in a long time.

Speak for yourself. I’m an honest member of the video game community and I’m impartial to GDKPs because they’re a natural evolution of group content in a 17 year old game. This peddling about “making traditional Guild structures relevant again” is nonsense in a world where all the content is PuG-able.

We see banning GDKPs for what it is - a heavyhanded, blunt solution to an intricate problem that is as old as the game itself. RMT predates GDKP, and it will survive this.

Remember when Blizzard prohibited trial accounts from speaking in General so they couldn’t advertise gold selling sites? So gold sellers killed their trial toons in the air in order to spell the names of their websites in floating level 1 corpses?

They’ll figure out a way.
