As someone that has raided casually (normal and heroic) during WoD and then transitioned into semi hardcore midway through legion and back to being casual I can tell you that the past 8 years that Normal is just basically LFR but you need to pay attention rather than ignoring, normal is not really a huge spike in terms of difficulty at all, maybe heroic and mythic is.
