Gazlowe doesn’t seem to have the Horde's interests at heart

Bingo! Kezan blew up and the bilgewater had to flee fast and joined the horde because of all that BS that happened.

The ones in the city has zero ideas this even happened

So the Undermine Bilgewater are or arent Horde on paper? I am so confused, lol.

On paper, they’re horde. But ask the people and they go “when did this happen?”.

It’s like finding out you got traded during break and didn’t even know.

How could they not know? This happened years ago. Are the playable goblins so insignificant? Wouldnt they have been on the news during one of many world saving events?

Does this make perfect sense to everyone else and I’m just the crazy one? I was under the impression that the Bilgewater Cartel was part of the Horde this whole time, and that the world was aware of this for years.

it is rather dumb, yes

Undermine has their own political system and goblins usually only stay with themselves if they aren’t trading with everyone else. Seems the bilgewater on top never went back down and the ones back down had their own issues with the trade princes before Gallywix showed up.

It is one of the many reasons Gazlowe never went back nor Reznik.

They know of the heroes but they don’t really care about horde or alliance politics as much as they care about their own.

That…that sounds moronic.

Not aiming that at you, but this is just bafflingly bad writing.

I thought Goblins were the most culturally in-touch race, what with their technology and trade with the world.

They’re just a bunch of underground hermits unaware of the outside world?? Did they not ask questions when the giant sword stabbed the planet? Did they not ask questions when a few goblins were involved in saving the world? They were never curious about where those goblins came from? They never noticed any of this??

It makes more sense when you realize that the goblins are more politically agnostic with the alliance and horde and more invested into their own trade prince disputes.

“Seems like” doesn’t mean anything. We need evidence from Blizzard.

Also, this IS a retcon. Why is the Bilgewater Cartel the only Cartel that has a separate Undermine branch too?

They do know all that, they just don’t care in the long run if it doesn’t mess with their money.

It’s like telling a dude in a city, hey, you’re not a Bostonian, after living in New York their whole life. They won’t care about the politics of Boston not care what they’re called unless they’re die hard ride or dies for new York.

He doesn’t say anything about it then. I looked on my Shaman here and an alt. I tried talking to Gazlowe at every quest turn in on said alt and what not to find the dialogue and couldn’t.

But dont they trade with the entire world? How are they so out of touch with the outside world? I never imagined goblins were isolationist hermits. They seriously never noticed there were horde-aligned goblins saving the world over and over? This never hit the news in Undermine?

He does say it. This is a fact. Need to go back on and play my warrior and find it.

It does hit them, they just don’t care. Like I said, when it comes to horde and alliance politics, they’re agnostic about it. They are good for trade but their true politics will always be about the trade princes

But you said they didnt know a group of Bilgewater joined the Horde, not that they knew but didnt care.

Why would they not care about goblins helping to save the entire world including themselves several times over?

Im just going to make a thread asking about it.

Some don’t know, some do. You get quests with them saying you’re the hero. Other times you got goblins not caring. It’s just like the real world. You have a quest of trying to share news and they get mad at you for doing so, while some others enjoy learning more

It’s to mimic real life people. I’ve met so many people out of touch with all the info they need in their pocket

In real life, you can’t just work for a large international corporation for, (how long has it been since Cataclysm, over a decade maybe?), and then not know that that corporation has subsidiaries in other countries.

Lol, yes you can. In fact it happens more times than we like

I’ve worked with people like that. They go in, clock in, do their job and not care what the job does or how big the company gets.

All they care about is the money and benefits.

Sorry this all just sounds stupid as hell to me, and a lame excuse for a cheap retcon that diminishes the playable goblin faction’s role within the Horde.

Something being realistic doesnt necessarily make it good writing, and I find it interesting how selective they are when it comes to realism.

We’re being told that the entirety of the playable goblins only represent some refugees on a boat, and that the vast majority of the company they represent has been unaware of every major, world-altering accomplishment their business has made for over a decade.

Yeah, I dont believe it. If my company represented my entire political identity, I’d be interested in what the literal heroes of my people are up to.
