Seriously. I want flying as well but these threads are so whiny and entitled.
I have to agree it still continues to hobble them when they have other bigger problems (class design, RNG gearing).
Had they allowed flying at 8.1 they could focus on putting out better content instead of scrambling to add flying in patch 8.2
Whiny and entitled? Iāve played this game since release and this is the first time Iāve ever made a post complaining about something on the forums. Iāve paid my dues, get over yourself.
Let me add that gating of everything in this game is making the game feel linear and lifeless when the game used to feel organic and dynamic. An example, gearing which felt good but then turned into RNG.
They literally havenāt reported sub numbers in almost three expansions. Regardless of how you feel about flying, where are you getting your ānumbersā? Or are you just making things up like most people tend to do in these types of threads?
I like Pathfinder One. I would do all that on my main anyways. What seems petty and vindictive to me is Pathfinder Part Two. There is no reason for part two other than the developers are still ticked off for losing the flying argument to begin with.
Herbs and ore are SHARED now. Meaning you can pick that plant/mine that ore after someone else has without waiting for respawns.
Next excuse.
Iām still profiting off of non flying like I did last xpac
next reason to get upset there is no flying yet
Look at Legion. One of almost unarguably the best expansions with the highest player count and it had gated flying. Your point is moot. Just because a bad expansion comes out and people think the ONLY thing left to do in the game is fly around doesnāt justify it imo. ![]()
I personally much prefer no flying until the next expansion. Itās not like you canāt fly everywhere else in the game.
Theyāve been hiding them for a while now. Gee, I wonder why.
I donāt understand why it needs to be broken into two pathfinders.
Just have an item in each faction quartermaster that is available when you hit exalted and just tune the rep accordingly. Once you get the items from each of the factions required then it combines and allows you to unlock flying. This way its only time gated by the player and not by when the next mini expansion is released.
Looking at how your post was flagged, it seems youāre right. I wouldnāt have been convinced if it wasnāt flagged.
Uh no. Pretty sure trying to add real ID to the forums was the worst (players proved to a dev or blue it was a bad idea by sending them a ton of pizzas as the story goes) followed by deciding not to bring back flying in Wod (which of course they reversed after the outcry).
Lots of people have said theyāre fine with pathfinder and waiting, including me.
It amazes me that people canāt comprehend that flying was gated long before they stopped reporting sub numbers. Thatās the weakest argument Iāve read so far.
For all the people are commenting āI like pathfinder 1!ā
I do too. Pathfinder part 2 is the problem and the part thatās time gated. I donāt mind working for it, but itās frustrating when itās not available.
To all those who donāt mind it, congratulations! Youāre the minority and probably have way more free time than the average player.
And it amazes me that people post dumb platitudes like āgating flying was blizzardās worst decisionā when in reality, the game has far more pressing concerns at the moment like a lack of engaging endgame, a near dead sense of community, a severely broken gear system, the azerite system, pvp in general, among other things.
I can comprehend that it was āgatedā in WOD. I just donāt see it as a big deal.
/nod
Iām the same way. I end up exploring, doing all quests, doing rep, etc, anyways, because that is simply how I play. I like doing that, I like completing things. But, it all feels like Iām being held back in playing how I want to play, because I like flying at max level (or, a wee bit early, as in Wrath).
Being held back because of artificial reasoning, does not feel good. Itās not fun.
The numbers donāt lie.
Well, at least OP got THAT part correct. We has 12 million subs until CATA. After CATA and MoP, we were down to 7 million.
That was BEFORE the flying rules changed. So whatever made us lose almost half the subs, IT WAS NOT GATING FLYING.
While I donāt think itās anywhere near the worst decision they have ever made. I do think it has cost them a fair number of players. Personally Iām fine with pathfinder 1 but part 2 just seems spiteful.
Thereās plenty of argument here. First, it only really looked good because it followed WoD. Especially at the start with how poorly legendaries were implemented. Second, nobody outside Blizzard knows what the sub count was for Legion, so youāre just guessing about how many it had.
Iāll take āComically Missing The Pointā for $800, Alex.
