so I was just wondering how is game performance for you guys?
since the patch I have been beyond laggy where I’m not sure I’m actually going to be able to play or not.
My PC is pretty old so it’s probably time to update but I don’t think that’s in the cards with everything else that’s happening.

I think at least part of the problem is even the base UI (essentially blizzards built-in addons) is churning out LUA errors. This is exacerbated for each additional addon you use because even the most popular ones are still fixing errors related to secret values.

I cleared my WTF, Cache and Interface folders and redid my addons, and got rid of a few I was using, and I am back to near expected performance.

I did a full reset via a Blizzard support article with those but I never actually manually cleared them. Might have to try that since their approach didn’t do anything.
It’s been dreadful but I am ordering a couple of 16 GB RAM cards when I can. Two 8 GB cards just aren’t cutting it anymore.

So I know it’s not a complete solution, but I had a similar issue where my pc had to be put down, but I didn’t have the money at the time to replace immediately. So I used GeForce Now on an old laptop until I was able to get my funds up, maybe if you’re not able to fix your problems you could look into that service?

The first few days were pretty bad for me lag wise anywhere on the eastern kingdom. It’s better for me now but there is still the occasional spike if I’m flying around trying to get rares from the event
FPS actually went up and haven’t seen any issues. I did delete my addons though so probably helped.
Ya know when you’re doing the Prepatch rares and there’s the one that does the huge pulsing void FX?
Yeah, that makes my frames go to slideshow levels.

I have not noticed any difference yet really.
Are the world bosses a little laggy for you?
Some people are seeing lag, others are not. I’m on a quiet realm and I only see it in Dornogal and even then it’s only the occasional stutter. On some of the FULL servers it seems worse.
If you are confident with your system and internet connection, roll a new 'toon on FULL and NEW or LOW servers and see if that’s the problem.

At times in Dornogal I get upwards of 150 FPS with most graphics turned to maximum.
As usual FPS drops seem to only happen in areas where a lot of players are using their abilities and the spell effects. Turning down particle effects (spell effects) helps. Upgrading your CPU and GPU helps too (AI and tariffs have made GPUs unaffordable for many people again though). Also, remember graphics lag and network lag are two different things. If your ping is high or fluctuating a lot, call your ISP. Graphics lag is an issue with the game coding, or your PC or settings.

ima actually playing without add-ons at the moment. WA was my main one and with it gone im trying the game in its base state. for the first time in years.
Mine has been horrible for the last 3 days. The snow storm on the east coast has affected things I’m sure but I don’t think it’s the whole issue.
It’s way worse in the evening peak hours; overnight and in the mornings I’m not having too many issues but from around 6pm eastern time to around midnight it’s been basically unplayable.
I normally don’t play during those hours as I work nights but I’ve been off this weekend. So I don’t know if this has been an ongoing issue or if it’s just came about recently.
Makes me worried for Midnight launch week. I took vacation for the entire week since it’s my birthday week as well. I was hoping to play a ton that week.

Zero problems, flawless performance before prepatch, zero addons, now getting occasional lag spikes, especially when flying into Dorn and a few weird random disconnects-esp in certain BGs.

I was lagging hard earlier today, honestly not even going to lie it was blizzard servers and my own internet as both home and world ms was in the thousands at multiple points.
That’s just latency, though, I wont even get into the system issues (of which there are plenty)
