Heck no, you know how many dummies there is out there without masks right now? You trying to get me killed? nope. not doing it.
I play over night, why not do it now like they are when most people are at work? Makes perfect sense to me.
This post would make sense if those other countries outside of NA had the same reset day as us.
just making sure sometimes it gets hazy in here and i cant tell.
The devs need to post this every Tuesday as a meme for exactly this thread.
Right? I mean it should be right on the launcher it’d be hilarious.
Well, I often work 6 days a week, with overtime on top of that. Sometimes I just enjoy getting online, and not roasting myself to death in the heat.
Also wouldn’t be surprised if servers come up soon since you can see the server list now.
So my plan is working perfectly
We should be reimbursed! This is outrageous!
Yes, exactly!
What would also be a waste of time is a game (and servers) that isn’t maintained and doesn’t run smoothly. I personally would much much rather have 8 hours of downtime every so often than a poorly maintained lagfest, small price to pay.
Just have a little bit of patience, go outside and get some fresh air or something (IF current circumstances allow for that, ye know, pandemic 'n all).
that. is. amazing.
although… i’m somewhat terrified.
i wasn’t expecting the server hamsters to look like that.
They ran out of hamsters, Blizzard started making forum trolls use the hamster wheel in exchange for unlocking their accounts.
cleaning, dusting, changing cables, updates, hardware changes aaannnnd a WHOLE LOT of cussing
oh and work on the database…so even more cursing
I’m completely outraged. I’ll be boycotting WoW till ~3pm PST today.
They’ve used Tuesday for years as their deploy day (push game fixes/changes live on that day). Traditionally, it took a few hours at least to compile/build/deploy and run checks/tests, sometimes you find a problem that crashes the game, have to hotfix and redeploy. So it made sense to dedicate a morning per week to it, I remember other companies using specifically Tuesday too, not sure why that day.
In 2020 most apps/companies are on continuous delivery - every time code is pushed the app redeploys, if there’s ever a problem, rollback and the developer fixes it. An app user just loading static webpages with JavaScript in the client doing most of the work would never notice these deploys, so it feels like it’s online 100% of the time. But different story with a persistent world MMO - there’s a lot of volatile state across many servers to keep track of, and you can’t just redeploy the app if people are actively using it unless your deploy time is very very fast and the game client is able to hide the hiccup - there would at least be a lag spike during the deploy.
One day soon though probably
Play something else.
Another man playing with barbie dolls being snarky on his female draenei
Actually, my character’s male.
Yeah that’ll be fun to hear you snark about.
