Game not accessing WTF folder?

I shut off my laptop by hard pressing the power button, and when I turned it back on, I was prompted to "install" wow from the launcher. I went into my C: drive and located WoW, but now when I log in, all my addons are loaded but none of my settings are. It's like it's not properly accessing my WTF folder (I guess?). Any suggestions?

It also played the Cinematic and is playing music from the character select screen. So I can tell those settings are back to default now as well (because I usually have that turned off and the cinematic has never played before).
You're SOL. Best case you corrupted the WTF folder but given that you've probably logged out since noticing the issue your automatic backups have been overwritten.
But it looks like some settings were saved. like which addons are loaded for which character, my keybinds, etc. how did this happen?
Some non-addon settings can be saved to the servers.
Those aren't saved to the server. They're saved to config files. I can dig them out for you if you want, but if you search your WoW folder for an addon name you KNOW you have, the files will jump right out at you.

Binds are stored as deltas from default if I remember correctly.

Macros are stored on your machine as well.
Some non-addon settings can be saved to the servers while others are saved all over the WTF folder. 3rd party addon settings are saved to either a single "global" or seperate per-character SavedVariables folder under WTF.

Server settings along with those in any of the folders that haven't been corruped may be useable.

I think my new one-liner will be "Sometimes not all stuff gets broke" ;)
Fizzie, I don't believe ANY settings are currently saved to the server any more.

Passwords, yes. Account level stuff, yes. But as far as actual game play, as far as I know the only thing STORED or SAVED on the server is the default keybinds and (if you're on a Chinese client) some game play time data.

I'd be interested in seeing what you think, specifically, is stored there.

I know there used to be options to store macros there and even keybinds, but while the option settings still work, I don't think the data storage to the client platform actually does.
I exit the game, remove/delete Interface, WTF and CACHE, re-start the game and all my non-default keybinds are in place, all my crappy attempts at macros are there.

Maybe I missed a step, I'm a bit of a luddite.
I'll try that tomorrow. That's a good test, though.
