Yeah I wouldn’t necessarily say the mostly-unknown upcoming patch is junk or has nothing but compared to Northrend’s upgrade… its not even remotely close from what we know now.
It seems like a very run-of-the-mill modern WoW patch. I find SL content to be kind of on rails regarding things like specs/classes (unchanged from BFA), and 9.1 has that same energy. There are some vertical additions but nothing new, just a change of scenery and ilvl.
Sort of like the Crucible of Storms patch in BFA. I’d argue that 8.1 actually brought more. And Dazar Alor was a very fun raid.
- I mentioned the raid
- Dual Spec was something liked? bc it isn’t in Vanilla or TBC and people love that so much apparently
- Dungeon Finder, isn’t that the devil’s fruit? People that say they hate LFR/dungeon finger/LFG. Still not a gameplay feature, which is (if you noticed) what I focused on
- Argent Tournament I mentioned, and it was hated, what are you talking about?
Tweaks is the class tuning I mentioned
Professions expanded I also mentioned, like tends to happen in the X.2 patch (8.2 adding the latest recipes)
And the new profession, okay that one is something I miss, thanks for that.
But a “ghost” of a patch? well we know just ideas of the patch so far, so yeah kind of a ghost, but it’s not empty in those ideas. Empty would have been 6.1 patch, now that’s an empty, scrapped content ghost of a patch.
I think you’re taking the end result of the addition as a point to compare, we don’t know how Sanctum will be, I know you think it’s going to suck bc wow players think everything is bad and that will suck no matter what… but we can only say there’s a big raid coming and put them on the same table until it comes out and see if it’s good enough.
Oh and… i just read, inscription was added in 3.0.2 Echoes of Doom, not 3.1
new zone, new dungeon, new raid, more ilvl, new systems
Last time they tried adding more power/character development in the form of essences/aze traits/corruptions, well, it became BFA, one of the most hated xpas.
For every person saying “there should be more” there is another saying “there’s too much, stop” . People asking for tier sets, while also people complaining about having to get gear from one source only (aka tier set) and to get precise pieces (as loot as always been somewhat random, not targeted to complete your set).
It was stated, by some of Blizzard’s upper staff, “We are time gating to keep players involved in the game.” That’s directly from Blizzard. Blizzard is trying to stretch the game to extreme lengths but they’re also breaking it.
I love when people post multiple threads about hating the game, but still play the game.
Put your money where your mouth is and unsub.
People return hoping that the next expansion will be more enjoyable than the last. Unfortunately, a lot of players have noticed it’s just getting worse.
For me, I play the game because of friends. They’re getting tired of playing the game. Once they leave, there is no reason for me to play WoW.
Hey man, you do you.
I just cannot fathom paying money to play a game that I apparently hate so much
Yep no world in MMORPGs, the genre based on a persistent world where multiple characters existed and did their own things. Sometimes they grouped, sometimes they didnt. Thank (or blame if thats your opinion) for making the genre solo friendly.
LOL raids USED to be up to 72 before WoW. They USED to not be in instances. They USED to not be tag it and its yours - you had to out DPS other guilds on the server. They USED to spawn at random times of the day / night and you had to be ready to go at any point.
Slower encouraged social interaction. GOGOGOGO ruined it. I made more friends sitting in a camp waiting for pulls in EQ than I ever did in WoW rushing through dungeons.
Yeah because thats all that was needed. Not many people were at a point where they NEEDED more content by patch 1.1.
Wut
Slower is also boring as hell. There is zero fun in spending half the time doing literally nothing.
EQ. The game the original WoW devs played and copied when they created WoW.
Before they decided to go Hello Kitty easy to get subs.
Many people in here only talk about what WoW was like when they started and they forget many of us started in MMORPGs long before WoW.
Not all of us are ADHD pre-teens
EverQuest was brutal compared to even Classic Wow, you leveled so slowly it took weeks to get a level. And you could lose levels if you died. WoW was like someone lifted a huge boulder off your back in comparison.
And quests! It has so many quests! Despite the name EverQuest was 90% “kill monsters until you ding”
If you checked forums, you’ll see people complaining there isnt enough solo stuff, that they feel forced to be with others and dislike that. Most casuals don’t care about guilds, just enter, wanna play and end, those also exist and if someone knows about it, is blizz that has Candy Crush under their wing now.
AND we used to have slaves, play in big machines at malls, paint houses with lead and use trollface memes… what is taht supposed to mean? I’m saying raids before, in vanilla, took way too long to make. Now it’s somewhat hard to make 20 competent ppl raids, and pugs leave after a wipe. 40 was a mess without guilds.
Not “encouraged”, forced , what if I made the / button (walk speed) permanent? that would encourage marches and “funny situations in a walking session”, which is stupid, but would happen, like the queue at the quest spawn in Classic. It’s not real social interaction, you are given little to no tools to get things done in other way, so you are forced to grind it, to walk around and waste time instead. It’s not the GOGOGOGO mentality, is the “i want to play, not wait simulator” mentality. This is a pay per sub game, you don’t want to waste hours asking for a group when LFG can do it instantly. i COULD walk to my parent’s house… or take a bus. Probably walking would lead to meeting people on the go, and street dogs, cool cars… but boring overall, and a waste of time.
Because WoW was new, now it’s 15 years old. That’s like saying “Pacman was amazing” but how many of you are willing to play 5 hours a day of pacman? for that time it was amazing, very new, now it’s dated and retro exclusive, even Tetris had to modernize itself with the battle royale 99 tetris. In a vacuum, it had very little content, very little, you had to repeat a whole afwul lot, waste most of your time walking around and doing the same raids or PvP BG once at lv60. That was it.
Not all of us are bored elders that enjoy watching a walking animation for hours, time’s short and you should know better if you played during Vanilla
Also remember that there is a mirror near the very first flight point in Ravendreth.
Just fly there and mirror port to the covenant hall rather than flying allll the way to Sinfall
This works for Kyrians too.
How does what you say disagree with anything I said? MMORPG doent mean forced grouping. It just means persistent world with a lot of people playing in it.
When you had to take 40 people you still only needed maybe 20 competent people and the rest to tag along. You can see it in Retail. The haves dragged the have nots to make things easier and the game was better for it. One person messing up didnt kil the entire raid. Hmm, more casual = more people happy.
Completely different. People talking and forming bonds happened, just like it did in Classic. The only way that happens in Retail is if you join a guild and they NEED you to progress and you both end up using each other. In the old, people actually made friends for reasons other than progressing in game.
The entire game of EQ is @ 21 and still going because its still EQ. WoW will be the same way. I just re-upped 2 accounts for 6 months and have little desire to play Retail. I could play Calassic, Classic TBC and Classic Wrath for the rest of my life. Even if I never hit the raids…
All I have is time now. I only work PT. When WoW launched I was 35 and a single dad. I fit SOME time playing after the kids hit bed, but now, I just get to enjoy it
Quickly? LOL We probably won’t see 9.1 until the middle or end of summer and I’ll bet they make flying unlocked with the last rank of Renown we can earn, so it’ll be four months after that before we can fly.
Especially in Twisting Corridors, at least on floors 3,6,9,12, & 15.
The Soul Ash ones dont need save spots IMO
This game will be the deadest it’s ever been and need life support in a few months . It’s already bad enough . And it’s all due to pandering to the elite 1% or maybe 5% but anyway . They screwed over casuals , and they get to deal with it now .
