Game design that encourages gatekeeping and elitism is getting old... I'm out

There is no gatekeeping in this game.

Really think this through. Like really try to apply critical thinking here.

Other than stupid overtuned raid mechanics, balancing (raid and classes) happen after the RWF.

And MDI is literally played on a tournament realm with max lvl classes and bis gear. Why would blizzard buff or nerf around the only version of the game that players can instantly swap to a full bis geared character in 5 seconds if nerfs go through.

Like it not hard to understand. The best players in the game play and try to break the best classes in the game. That’s why they are the best. It has nothing to do with your garbage complaining about ā€œesports is duh badā€.

OK I’m not going to disagree with your statement but I’m sure we won’t have the same reasoning or view on the changes.

Yes. They play on a professional level to the point you might as well call them Alpha/Beta testers (which most of them are).

You are taking this game WAY too personal if you feel that nerfs and adjustments are kicks in the face.

There’s a solution that’s been in game since day 1. Make your own groups and guild.

Your scenario also includes the possibilities that all of them will leave after one wipe or none of them will leave. I’m stayed with groups where I doubted the tank’s ability to not get cratered (it was a really bad at it Warrior… and I think we can all agree for the most part that you have to actually put in effort to play a prot warrior badly… heck I can’t even screw up playing a prot warrior).

That’s Moon Guard for you… I used to play Moon Guard TBC-End of Cata. The sheer volume of guild drama in what few guilds that did end game content could be the center focus of George Martin’s next series. It’s like Game of thrones with even sillier reasoning (Season 8 spread over 6 years folks).

Don’t tell me… priest?

OMG…like it’s their JOB, right?

It was insane. I was not prepared. I absolutely LOVED my time with RP over there, and I really wanted to like my guildies and stay, but the drama was so over-the-top I just could not hang out with it. It was constant. Absolutely unrelenting drama over stuff so incredibly stupid. Huge portions of that server’s player base live for the adrenaline rush and dopamine hits and the exquisite pleasure of righteous indignation.

So. No more RP for me.

Its people like you why the game has the lowest subs its ever had and new players statistically quit within a week

Nice guild name.

You got a source, cuz claiming random information without proof is pretty toxic.

Gatekeeping is the most overused word.

I felt this way in shadowlands. But luckily found a new guild that was forming for Df raiding and its working out so far.

This sounds like a social issue and nothing to do with the developers.

There isn’t any gate keeping. People limit themselves.

Everyone has the opportunity to do everything in this game.

Yes there is. If you need to level up or gain renown to access the story, that’s a gate. That being said, I’m not complaining. I’m observing. I’m not personally invested or affected by the gate, but that doesn’t mean it’s not there.

It’s more time gating than gatekeeping. Gatekeeping would be more like not ever letting you do it.

Alright, I can see the semantics of what you’re pointing out. We’re at some level of agreement, I’m somewhat misusing my word of choice though.

Shows from 2005-2023 the sub numbers.
Only toxic one here is you for wanting people learning their class to be kicked from groups.

I wasn’t trying to be hyper critical. I was just confused by the term :+1:

Has anybody asked for his gold yet, if not, can I have your gold?

How are you being gatekept? Specifically? And from what type of groups?

Totally didn’t receive it as even mildly critical. Sometimes clarity is necessary to discover we’re actually not as far from being on the same page as we can think.
