Last night I got a Blinkstrike drop from one of the mobs in Netherstorm. I put it on the AH for 9k buyout, 6.5k bid.
Later that night, one of the officers in my guild, a rogue, asked me if I could sell him the sword for 4k, told him I’d sell it to him for 7.5k. This morning, I was kicked from the guild, the GM said I wasn’t being a team player. Was this fair? I just joined this guild a month ago too.
Well it certainly wasn’t fair. You get a drop from a mob you killed in the zone, put in AH, officer notices it, asks for a greatly discounted price, and then kicks you when the price isnt what he wanted.
If it’s a BoE you won the roll, even if it was a guild run. If they want it that bad they can pull together and give you the 7k, since that’s what you want for it. Freaking commies playing this game sometimes.
If it was a guild run drop I could see the expectation and frankly in that case I would personally hand it over. However if it was a random world drop you are under no obligation to give anyone anything, especially if gold is a concern for you. That’s enough to cover your epic flying.
Make an Auction House character and NEVER talk about loot or gold in game; people get funny about that stuff in game and RL. Jealous people ruin everything.
He’s been with them less than a month. No offense I wouldn’t be all in at that point either. Now if it was my guild I had been with for 10+ years that would be a different scenario. I mean he could hand the sword over and that rogue bolt for the hills. Seen it happen more than once.
Ok, then he has no obligation to give the guild constant discounts on items he acquired outside of guild times/run. Had nothing to do with devotion. I feel pretty bad for your guildies if they’re obligated to fund you off-time.
This, actually. If it isn’t minor things like cloth or materials I tend to shift everything to a character to sell so that I’m left in peace by people who know me and tend to then expect it greatly discounted or for free.
