This game has surpassed legendaries being a good idea; this and the evoker 1 are perfect examples, they tune the classes around them, they are the most RNG of RNG to get in the game, and require a gold/time sink.
We would all rather the classes/specs were balanced around standard gear we don’t have to pray for at a sub 1% drop rate in order to be competitive.
If I didn’t have battleshout, I’d be a massive burden to my raid team currently on mythic fyrakk purely because we sim so low comparatively to other classes without it, and I’m 10 weeks in with no drop. Awful design, awful implementation, do legendaries like the cloak where it’s static across the board if you must have orange names.
As a druid who filled in as an offtank for my guild when our primary offtank had surgery, I refuse to say Gavel was “done properly.” Perhaps for DKs, paladins, and warriors it was done properly; the fact that I had to get someone else to trade it to me because it was left off my loot table despite being usable and BIS would not be “proper.”
No. There are specs that still haven’t received a single legendary (2h agility) and enhancement shaman, and tanks (not sure how they’d make a multi-purpose tank legendary, maybe a trinket, but yea) and 2h str has now received 2.
Have mythic Tindral killed with AOTC since week one and none of our guildies have it. What a terrible system, horrendous legendary, and glad that these idiot blizzard devs tuned all the classes that use this around having it. What a joke. I am fairly close to quitting.
This is not a legendary. Enhances could get Classic Hammer and hunters and rogues both had legendaries. Shadowmourne was 16 years ago and nearly no one experienced it.
I mean. I’m not disagreeing with anyone that other classes should have cool things. IDK why Tindral didn’t drop a druid legendary TBH. Strength classes getting a legendary sounds cool, but the way they did it this tier makes me never want to play a legendary class again.
If you are referring to when vanilla was retail, that was more than the 16 years ago that strength wearers had Shadowmourne. If you’re referring to classic as a reset on their wait for a legendary, then strength users could get Shadowmourne this second time under wrath classic and their timer is far less than 16 years now.
Survival hunter has not received a legendary since they were moved to melee. They were melee when we got the Sylvanas bow, and it’s been more than the 16 years for Shadowmourne when we got the legendary bow out of Sunwell in TBC.
Even ignoring how ridiculously powerful Gavel was, there is no way to make an argument that strength wearers deserve the next legendary based on the time since their last legendary. There are two classes that have never received a legendary (when current). There have been two specs that have changed their preferred weapon type, neither which have gotten a legendary under the new weapon type and even the most recent legendary for their previous weapon type goes back longer than Shadowmourne. And there are 2 specs that have had the same weapon type that still haven’t gotten a legendary they could use since TBC. Even if we discount Fyralath entirely (which is being mighty generous), there are numerous classes/specs that have waited longer for a legendary weapon than 2H strength wielders.
Whenever I see melee DPS complain that they don’t get enough flashy items, all I can think of is that scene from the first harry potter where Dudley is whining he got one less present this year.
