Fury -- why not leech?

Just like it says. I’m not complaining about my self-sustain or anything I just don’t understand the thought process behind making bloodthirst your healing ability rather than just roll leech into the spec. Or healing based on rage spent. The whole healing through damage dealt fits into the class fantasy of fury warrior and the more damage I do the more I should heal. The base 5% just feels lazy.

If it was more than 5 or 6% with Fresh meat people would complain as usual.

Probably because Blood Thirst’s heal has been in the game since Vanilla Wow, and had been a static amount throughout several expansions. We’re lucky to have seen it at some point change from just a flat amount to % health based, that way it has some semblance of scaling. Also, I think it is to keep it from being too much healing by making it unable to Crit as well as not scaling with Versatility. In WoD, there was a talent that made Blood Thirst have no cooldown, making Fury extremely difficult to kill… I use to tank 5-man dungeons as Fury just for fun back then.

If it’s not broken, don’t try and fix it.

If you had leech in your build, it would make your self healing extremely good during AOE pack and mediocre during ST. Making it a flat % on an ability you mostly use on CD means they can balance it well for mostly any type of gameplay.
