Will these changes help me Unga Bunga?
Warrior all around need a complete overhaul. Probably wont have a chance of happening till the next expansion. No matter how they buff the specs right now, the warrior community is not going to be happy. Unless of course they do an insane amount of damage.
well, that is true⌠but the overhaul is not happening and our dmg is ok on fury / subpar on arms so better all play shammy this expac
On the topic of tuning - there are a few talents that are outliers in power in the middle of our tree. This is somewhat of a lesser problem at the moment because our capstone talents are so weak we just skip them and pick up talents in the middle instead.
But, hopefully, some day when our capstone talents are actually desirable the Fury spec tree talent economy is a legitimate problem IMO.
Hack and Slash
This one is pretty massive, and partly in combination with Slaughtering Strikes which is our number 2 most problematic talent. But Hack and Slash comes across in sims 5-6.5% better than any talent that competes with it.
Every class has mandatory talents, and this is probably a fine one to have for Fury due to how much better it makes the gameplay feel. It feels real, real bad when you have to hit slam or ww instead of Raging Blow because you ran out of charges.
Slaughtering Strikes
So this one comes out 2.5-4% ahead of most any other reasonable talent itâs competing against. And unlike Hack and Slash this doesnât really do anything for gameplay. Iâd really like to see this talent nerfed, rather heavily even, to allow a baseline buff to rampage and allow the spec as a whole the opportunity to take some non raging blow talents
Improved Whirlwind
Iâve never liked this talent being required to give us the ability to AoE at all. I still donât like it. This talent and meat cleaver being near 100% mandatory if you ever want to hit more than one target really squeezes on the Fury talent economy.
Thats what im doing lol
donât ask for a nerf theyâll do it and not compensate you for it
Good change for Mountain Thane and Thunderblast.
Whirlwind and Onslaught feel like nothing burgers.
My initial feedback in this thread remains very relevantâregarding relative strength of talent/hero talent abilities and especially Odynâs Fury. Bladestorm already felt weak after its Season 1 nerfs, and now it seems like it will be completely outclassed by Thunderblast after these changes.
This patch further pushes Slayer toward being non-viable as a competitive alternative to Mountain Thane in any AoE. Bladestorm was heavily nerfed in Season 1, and Odynâs Fury has been gutted as part of Slayerâs burst with the Titan Torment change, which was the only thing keeping it competitive. Even before these changes, Slayer had extremely low pick rates in 10+ keys due to Mountain Thaneâs dominance, and that gap is only going to widen with this patch.
I wish I had posted this earlier. I realize that itâs too late for any design changes for 11.1, but maybe it could make a difference in a future patch.
The Titanâs Torment change bothers me a lot. I prefer DF S3 annihilator builds plus Bladestorm over what we have today on live. I hate what we have on the PTR.
The thing that made Odynâs Fury feel good to press was the mini Avatar from Titanâs Torment. Odynâs Fury doesnât feel impactful without it. Iâm very unhappy about this change.
Going back to using Raging Blow is another change I didnât like in 11.0. If Raging Blow was used rarely, like how Slam was used with Annihilator builds, and itâs cd never reset, I wouldnât mind it. The cd resets and any RB spam where it ever gets prioritised over anything else ruins it for me.
I always want to use Bladestorm and itâs why I chose Slayer. Itâs my favorite fury warrior aoe ability by far. I want builds that use Bladestorm to always at least be competitive dps wise with other builds. If Thane with Bladestorm is competitive with non Bladestorm builds (I hate ground target abilities such as Ravager and Spear) then I will try it, but overall I would rather stick with Slayer due to the interaction with Bladestorm specifically.
