Due to limited time I find myself solo a lot. I enjoy the fast paced Fury playstyle, and so far it seems pretty decent, but is it a pretty good solo class? I was also considering a Ret pally, but while they have some interesting stuff I often find myself waiting a couple seconds until I can use my attacks again.
Fury’s near-constant heal from Bloodthirst is very good for survivability.
You can’t go wrong with off healing yourself, but FoL has been heavily nerfed for Ret since Legion.
As far as CDs go:
Enraged regeneration makes bloodthirst far greater. I can pull MANY mobs and survive on Fury with it (and can still pull a lot thanks to BT without enraged regen).
Bubble is really thematic and good for Ret, but often feels like a “run away button”. Lay on Hands generally feels better imho and it is extremely nice to have in an emergency (but 10m cooldown is long compared to enraged regeneration’s 2 or 3 minute cd)
Another caveat of the warrior is you naturally heal by doing your damage rotation. Pally has to stop and heal or use a long cooldown. Meanwhile, the warrior sacrifices 0 dps to survive, pumping out max damage.
Personally I would go for the warrior, but both are excellent options.
You’re right that Fury is fast paced playstyle and he does have some survivability, but Ret pally for sure have more survivability in this case, it’s just comes down to what type of playstyle you like more.
Gotta say I honestly think Fury has more sustain than Ret. As said before the constant Bloodthirst healing is very good, and Flash of Light has been nerfed over the patches. Once you bubble as a paladin, you’re very vulnerable. And then Bubble is a 5 minute cooldown, vs Enraged Regen as a 2 min CD. Plus if you have war mode enabled and run Battle Trance you also heal for 3% every 3 seconds, on top of your Bloodthirst healing.
If you want to PvP don’t play Fury, your survivability will be trash and Ret has MUCH BETTER tools. But if you wanna do solo content then Fury is one of the best specs, second maybe only to Demon Hunters.
Don’t listen to anything Amarantine says. He also made a thread saying Fury is slow and got grilled for it by everyone with a brain. The guy has no clue what he’s talking about.
Fury has some of the strongest survivability in the game in PvP save for arena matches that go into dampening. Arms is the better PvP spec, but fury is still good for casual BGs and such. If you don’t have a healer, you will die more as Arms. If you do have a healer, Arms is alot more tanky than Fury and Ret.
All Ret has is bubble which is a 5 min CD and BoP, which can be purged/dispelled and does nothing against spell damage, mediocre off healing with FoL, and LoH which is a 10 minute cooldown.
In otherwords, without your bubble, you’ll flop.
Bear in mind that Amarantine was 110 until May 19th. He’s had a max level warrior for like 2 weeks. He’s not what you would call an expert in end game warrior play.
Bear in mind these guys consider being an expert running the SAME DUNGEON over and over, but with higher numbers. But yes, I havent played BfA that much, so just look into leaderboards for PvP if you prefer, fury is TRASH. You have terrible survivability and no burst at all, which is core for BfA poorly designed PvP experience.
You are better off playing Arms if you want to PvP, you will bring burst damage, mortal wounds, better defensives and MUCH, MUCH better utility.
I’ve been playing Fury for most of BFA. It is extremely capable of any content. And war mode talents solidify its already Suoer powerful survivability I love Battlegrounds in fury. Areas are okay but not my thing…
As of 2 weeks ago I’ve now decided to learn the arms spec as there is not many upgrades left for me in fury spec and I’m ready to try something new. It’s…different. ZERO self sustain in combat. Idk how I’m going to get a 5mask clear as arms w.o the healing food and sitting on my butt while CDs come back during trash pulls. I will keep playing arms not because it’s “better” because I know fury is more capable (for the game style I prefer. ) but arms is more like engaging. Have to think about stuff. Not just auto cleave everything w.rampage and ww
This guy makes claims like he knows so much more than everyone and then uses the excuse that he PvPs and everyone else here PvEs. I’ve done both, as both specs. So what?
This dude’s highest achievement in PvP is challenger and his CR isn’t even 1600. His record is actually 30-35…at 1600. He even admits he hasn’t played much in BFA so how would he even know anything.
Sorry bud, but theres peolpe getting high CR playing tank specs. BfA achievements will mean nothing in the future. Also, I legit started 2 weeks ago. There is no way to be competitive in BfA millenial PvP without grinding alot of PvE.
Exactly my point. 2200 is so easily obtainable anyone can do it as any spec. So what’s your excuse?
You mean just like any achievements from any past expansion?
Then why are you posting here like your posts hold any weight? Almost everything you’ve said has been false or bad information.
I mean, I’ve done 1 M+ on this guy this season and idr if I’ve even stepped foot in nyalotha or not and I’m 450 ilvl. Besides that, every season has seen PvE gear in PvP, even MoP when PvP power was a thing I still saw mythic SoO geared people in higher rated arenas and RBGs. Wasn’t as common and I entirely disagree with forcing PvE to gear up for PvP but if that’s your excuse for being bad in PvP, find a better one, because I hate PvE as well but I still did it and I’m happily nuking people in arenas with my Drest trinket and surviving with my Shell trinket.
