It was, it was different because the players were the majority of bots, doing it on their own accounts.
Because bots are created in house overseas and not in the US and do not allow the public to use them.
It was, it was different because the players were the majority of bots, doing it on their own accounts.
Because bots are created in house overseas and not in the US and do not allow the public to use them.
Because the bots are built and hosted in Russia or other anti-US hellscapes. This is also why private servers are still a thing.
There’s ways around it though, like more powerful anti-cheats or governmental involvement, for example cheating in online video games will literally land you a criminal record in South Korea.
But when you just take a glance at who are sitting in the US congress, don’t expect anything to change on that front until they finally step down as video games are just a vague concept to 80 years olds.
While there was botting in Vanilla the worst I ever saw first hand was Wrath of the Litch King and then it died back down to almost non existent levels similar to vanilla where occasionally you would see a Bot but it was uncommon, and that was basically so for Cata and MoP, but then in early WoD Bots became super common like Wrath again with not a lot of chance since.
Different servers are better/ worse… Anniversary is especially bad, as also was SoD… contrast to Present day Whitemane Era where we have as a community exterminated most of the Bots, there may be a max of 50 bots total on WMC because we keep them dead. Some will say WMC is dead, but this would be a lie, we have 4 AB’s up and I can raid lock for every single raid in game in phase 6 basically on demand at near any time of the day on 5 characters that I play.
Meanwhile on other servers the bots are flat out cancer… I think the only difference is a culture on a server, because NS is way worse than DS (anniversary)
My account got perma banned for using Honor Buddy in MoP
I also used Open Kore for Ragnarok Online
The only one I don’t regret was Powerbot for Runescape, that game wanted you to click on the same tree for thousands of hours just to 99, predatory development practices
I am good boy now and manually play the game 100% legit so I won’t be at risk of losing progress. Still like games such as Melvore Idle that progress when the games closed, something inherently satisfying about making gains whilst away from your computer.
If only you could mine a worthwhile crypto on a general desktop computer without it using 90% processing power, annoyed they haven’t figured that out yet
Remove trading and the AH and majority of bots go away but you dont actually want bots removed
Were you actually there for that? Cause i was, yes GDKP was around but it was very very miniscule. Never saw it in LFG, maybe once in a blue moon. You can even google it and look at GDKP posts back around that time. It was very uncommon.
The problem now is GDKP overthrows all other pugging. I died on my 60 in HC. Switched to whitemane, couldnt join any pugs because i didnt have enough gold. How pathetic is that. Quit after two days of trying to pug starting raids, that wanted me to have thousands of gold.
Fact of the matter is, its garbage for the game. RMT aside since i barely saw any rmt in gdkp, it ruins pugging and everyone treats you like you owe them something. Whatever happened to just playing the game?
I love how these threads always get derailed. It would be nice to see at least some attempts to stay on topic
Anyways, you don’t have to rush anything and believe it or not there are entire guilds even on anniversary that are laid back and just chilling out. They are just not as noticeable, by their very nature, and they tend to not clear content as quickly.
I personally have a few toons in a guild to raid content as it drops and several more toons that I lazily level and goof around on. I enjoy doing what I want, when I want to do it. If you are not doing what you enjoy the majority of the time I would suggest making some changes either to the way you approach the game or to what game you play.
There is no right or wrong way (outside of the tos) so find some like minded people and don’t worry about the rest…kind of like in real life.
How pathetic is OP that he can’t have fun if other people are having fun in a different way.
What a goober.
No one is making you do anything you stated, you literally play your own game.
I think it’s that when a significant portion of the player base has a certain attitude, that kind of seeps into every part of the game then.
You can’t go 5 seconds without seeing some boost spam or a bot or things like that. It just takes you out of the experience even if you’re playing completely solo or with a group of like-minded people.
And because those people are also the loudest voices the only feedback that Blizzard sees is from players like that.
The truth of the situation is, everyone wants to play classic. A lot of players want to exploit classic without playing the actual game. Some people even make up bs history about the game. I want you to consider these scenarios.
This server only consists of real players. No bots.
Could the perfect game exist?
Well there was a post here that said it’s not 2002 anymore but it was deleted.
To that I say that if you’re playing the 2004 version of the game (yes I get that it’s more like the 2005? 2006? version but whatever) like it’s the 2025 version of the game, you’re not going to have a very good time.
You can see this with all the people complaining about the AV grind for R14. Back in the original vanilla game R14 was only for the absolute most dedicated, most hardcore players who could play literally 16-20 hours every day for weeks on end. But now? Everyone seems to feel entitled to it, to the point where when they get suspended for being AFK in AV their top complaint is this puts them behind on their R14 grind.
Things like R14 and Naxxramas were only for the top elite players, NOT your everyday player. The problem is that in classic too many everyday players want to play classic like they are top elite players and then get upset when they have to put in the boring, difficult work to do so.
what GDKPs? Theyre banned on anniversary
I have to say the cultural feel of anniversary is: Adult yelling at little league game. Lot of angry dads who know exactly how to play and are so furious the kids are out there having fun.
but the content is still fun with fun people
Yes, I was there for it and participated many weeks. Admittedly, I can only ever remember seeing it in ICC, and I thought it was a new concept at that time. Every week in trade, in guild chat, and probably other places, I saw people advertising GDKPs.
I thought it was a win/win. Either I have enough gold to get an upgrade that drops, or I get some gold and maybe use it the next week to get the upgrade. I literally don’t see how it could be a problem if, as you acknowledge, RMT doesn’t drive GPDKs.
Besides, I can’t understand paying a sub for something only to rush through it and skip or miss stuff.
Get your money’s worth. Just my opinion…
That depends on what you value in game and if you feel you get your money’s worth doing that activity. Enjoyment will always be subjective.
Eyr enjoys leveling. Cezar likes pvp. I enjoy fishing.
We all chirp one another on the forums but none of us are right or wrong in what we enjoy.
One of the funny things I saw and figured it wouldn’t turn out any better was streamers/people making youtube videos (or they got exported there) and saying “I think we all made a mistake in rushing too much the first time, I won’t do that again, we missed the journey, the experience. . .”
oh look they’re rushing again
can’t stop the culture shift
brain on tiktok brain
retail is better
What is even sadder is the vile verim roaches that infest this forum thinking the latter is better for the game, day in and day out spamming threads to delrail anyone that doesn’t support their pyramid schemes.
Truly a sad state for wow, I dont know how anyone can be interested in investing time into the game, oh wait people already aren’t with boosting…
The cockroaches won’t even draw a line in the sand and will continue to pull the strings of false arguments that claim their systems are for the better for the playerbase.
They think they’re Robin Hood or something it’s very strange
… as the Tauren Shaman said above retail is a far better game yet classic players claim it’s a themepark, truth be told classic is the theme park, I got max honor cap without a single honourable kill for goodness sake.
