So I’ve read and have seen that Frost dks aren’t doing great. I primarily want to play one for PvP. Is this a good class/spec to choose? How are they looking for dragonflight? Thanks for answers
I guess it would matter what sort of PvP you were looking to do. If its just having fun in BGs then sure, everything can be entertaining/competitive when not completely outgeared. DK anything is a riot to mess around with for a few matches.
If you’re talking about rated stuff, someone that participates in that would have to chime in.
Both. I like casual battlegrounds but I also want to play in arenas and rated Bgs. ![]()
I think most are going unholy for pvp because the meta is to pop all CDs and one shot someone the same as its been the whole expansion.
For M+ frost is incredibly fun but unviable unless you have a survival hunter in the group.
DPS tier lists and such are really only important at the highest levels of content (high keys and Mythic raiding), I’ve played Frost DK exclusively since Cata and the only people who out DPS me in my keys right now are those who are 10-20 ilvls higher than me. For context though 12s are the highest I’ve done so far, and 15 is the highest I plan to go.
Thanks. That’s good enough for me. I doubt I’ll be a pro player but I’m intermediate for sure.
Put it this way, was playing unholy, and then switched to Frost and haven’t looked back. Unholy is just not fun to play, I don’t care what the meta is.
Frost actually feels like it has a fluent rotation. Unholy is an unholy mess in that regard.
Frost DK lag behind a bit on single target DPS in PvE. They’re great for burst AoE scenarios though, but since the removal of S3 affix, their uptime on Breath has cratered, meaning they lost their place in M+ as a A-tier+ spec.
In PvP, in Arena, they’re mostly unknowns. In RBGs, they do have a good niche as a Target picker, Offensive control. You get the Frostwyrm lego, and you can pretty much create scenarios with Limb, DG, and Frostwyrm for team kills. They’re not great at back of the line flag sitting.
