I have always been a prot warrior main, with my shaman as an alt… but our guild picked up some tanks and I want to go into TWW as enhancement. Do you all feel that it would be worth the time to invest at launch? Or should I pick something in a better position? I have druid, warlock, and mage experience.
I find enhancement to be one of the most fun specs in the entire game. So yes I’d say go for it. It is a very unique melee spec and is incredibly visually satisfying as well.
My answer is based on Youtube class and roll reviews. Enhancement, per Blizzard’s last build before patch day, was rated to be A tier for both Elemental and Enhancement. Both Warrior DPS spec were rated lower (I don’t remember). They said that Mountain King for Fury is a lot of fun and feels like Enhancement Shaman.
As for patch day, there are some glaring issues with the updates. We haven’t gotten a rebate on our Spec talent tree for Enhancement and we’re not getting x2 Elemental Blast when you take Ele. Blast and Lava Burst. Instead, you get both spell abilities. Patch day results will vary … So that’s what I can say right now.
So pre patch is a bit borked since the newest beta changes were not pushed to live servers with the prepatch update so I’d wait to play it extensively until those are hotfixed. But after that happens, I don’t think it would a bad idea to start looking into Enhance.
As a general rule of thumb, tier lists at this point are widely unreliable. Until widespan tunning changes happen, it is up in the air as to how class/spec will actually be by the time season 1 starts. Many specs (not just ele and enhance) are 1 or 2 changes away from massively affecting their throughput and gameplay, with much of those being propped up(or hampered) by bugs, overturned talents, and unintended/overtuned interactions.
It would seem we received the old beta version that had the errors, Ele Blast not replacing lava burst, too many two-point nodes, etc. So we are on a flawed build. Will it last that way to release? Unknown.
I am using pre-patch to clean up, get the new WarBank, and any other pre-thing I ned to do. I already have achieves and other things fro DF, so that is not a concern.
