I have mixed feelings about this change of black lotus.
From a consumer perspective this is great news im glad blizzard is taking care of the elephant in the room. being there are herb spawns meant for 3k players with a population of 7k.
now from my perspective a Herbalist/Alchemist. Please read.
To have the value of my hard work and determination wiped out in an instant is devastating.
For months i have been fighting tooth and nail with gold sellers from south east asia who have made there career farming lotus and camping the auction house. you must take into consideration that the average pay for people in south east asia is $300 USD a year, convert the currency, imagine if you could sell 6k gold for $30,000 usd, how hard would you fight to pick a lotus or make a sale on AH?. i have been spending upwards of 10 hours every day Doing circles around Burning steps, constantly canceling and re-posting my flasks for sale that get undercut for 1 gold. i have put literal blood, sweat, and tears, into fighting these career gold sellers to build on my inventory of 40 flasks, and to have my net value wiped out in an instant by blizzard implementing changes to the game is devastating, i literally cried myself to sleep.
Please blizzard compensate players like me for the loss in value of our very very very hard work over months and months of grinding fighting tooth in nail with people making real money picking black lotus and undercutting on AH to make sales.

They won’t compensate you, nor should they to be completely honest. You see a lot of AV complaints, a lot of pre-made complaints… but just from browsing the forums the #1 complaint over the past 2-3 months has got to be the price of black lotus and flasks. We all knew this was coming, we just had no idea when it was coming. So if you were still heavily investing in black lotus then it was just poor judgement on your behalf.

You can’t sell 6k gold for $30,000 usd. 6k gold would get you like 200 bucks. And the people that are sometimes monitoring all the bots/farmers/etc probably get like 4 of those dollars. Gold sellers aren’t making their money off of competitive lotus farming where they have to go up against more active humans. At least not in the numbers you think they are.
If you cried yourself to sleep over this game, you need to seek professional help. You have a problem.

one of the guillds i have an alt in has some players that buy from the russian gold sellers…they get 1K g for like $25…not sure if they are serious or not…but guess its a new “mafia”…lol
Does Sony refund you money because that 50 inch screen model dropped in price two years later? No? You really should call them to demand a refund then.

I’m an alchemist with a couple stacks of lotus banked for personal use. Have had most of them since p1. I’m honestly relieved this change happened, as now I know my guild mates will be able to flask for progression in AQ and Naxx without issue.

People either too lazy or too inept to compete and instead choose to whine and stomp their feet till daddy blizzard caves sounds a lot more childish to me.
This is a VERY slippery slope. What’s next? Herbs are too hard to pick triple the spawn of those. R14 is too hard it’s not fair. I haven’t seen enough dft/tears/cts/bindings buff that drop rate it’s not fair…

Till some neckbeard makes a YouTube video cause he wants more than 12 views, it spreads, and either becomes worthless cause every idiot is doing it or Blizzard nerfs it after they swim out from all the forum tears.

If you literally cut yourself in the process of gathering in WoW, this game is unhealthy for you. If you literally cried yourself to sleep over 40 flasks, WoW is unhealthy for you. You need help.

Oh shut up. They should have increased black lotus spawns when they made the change to having servers with 15k players. The fact is the spawn rate they had was for servers that maxed out at 3k players.
Black lotus was meant to be rare, not entirely impossible to get without knowing every spawn by heart and tracking timers while sitting on 5 ghost alts to see where it spawns quickest. There were players sitting on thousands of lotus that would have never entered the market to keep it inflating. THAT’S more of a change from Vanilla than an unforseen change to make it so players can afford to flask without crushing their bank.
Some of us work a lot but still manage to consume and world buff and stay competitive, it would be nice to not spend ALL of my time on the game not in raid AoE farming for when we’re progressing again
