Friendships forged through WoW

Another thread I commented in (Has wow ever gotten you through a tough time? - #46 by Ghozar-hellscream for anyone interested) got me thinking about friendships made through WoW and the impact they’ve had on me and the people I know.

Whats some of the strongest friendships you’ve made through WoW? For me I got two pretty good examples. Started back near the tail end of the first major patch of WoD and kinda drifted till settling on MG. Ended up meeting two people in raids that would turn out to be some of the best friends I’ve ever had.

The first guy doesn’t play WoW much anymore, his work doesn’t give him the free time to stay caught up, but we still text and chat through discord and play other games together. Known each other for nearly 6 years and we’ve been thick as thieves ever since.

The second one was a competitive raider that I just kinda met by pure happinstance. We both started talking and ended up bonding over Hearthstone over all things and were pretty strong friends pretty quickly. Now her and I are getting married here in a few months.

Any good memories ya guys wanna share that you’ve made thanks to WoW? The people you interacted with and what not. Figured a feel good thread among the sea of salt would be a nice little checkpoint for people to think back on the good times.

Back in 2007 when I started met a guy who I did arenas with. I was like 12, 13 at the time? He was much older than me but still played with me because said I was funny. I came to him for advice on life throughout the years and now I’m 25 and still friends with him. That was the strongest bond.

Some years ago my mage got ganked in dragonblight. I added his bnet to send him a frownie face and he said he felt bad. We became friends and been talking to each other every other day.
