It may not be the warning people wanted it were expecting, but this quite clearly tells people that the arena season is ending soon at the prepatch and the prepatch is soon.
If they were planning an official end of season announcement, they would have included “A date will be announced at a later time” like they always do with posts like this.
A generic end date like this allows them flexibility to either release it the 29th or the 6th.
Is it possible they’ll still have another “Arena Season will end on X” post? Sure. Is it required? No, because they gave us notice.
“ Players who are recruited prior to the release of the Shadowlands pre-expansion patch will not receive the new 30-slot bag, the Extra-Spacious Knapsack.”

I think the pre patch will be the 6th, based on this post though.
And nothing will have changed, just the same random loot being assigned and the same Conquest caps instead of Conquest vendors like they used to have that allowed PvP players to work towards their goals of gearing up. On numerous occasions I have been given the same exact items every week for a month. I’m so overjoyed at the opportunity to be allowed to get 4 of the exact same Conquest helmet week after week for an entire month. /s
It’s timegated in the worst possible way. One rare spawns every 30-60 minutes, and it drops the scourgestones that you can exchange for the currency. But as it was on the PTR, it took 3-4 rares for one piece of the armor.
There’s dailies too, but only a couple, and one was incompleteable on PTR because it’s kill 10 ZOmbies, but player zombies dont count, and there’s never any NPC zombies.
PvP end of season announcements almost never have a date attached. It is always “ending soon”. The actual date has lately been announced a few days prior to the patch going live.
It is just assumed that the end of season notice means 2 weeks (because it usually is) but it has been considerably less several times, there is no reason it couldn’t be a week this time.
