the last thing i just said is that i am against buying gold and i think it’s not fair to people who want to play without that. and you respond with “maybe fresh just isn’t for you” okay, guy.
It isn’t for everyone, that’s true. But we’re trying to say that the option should be there for those who do want it, instead of just not being an option at all. Please Blizz?
and that will last exactly long enough for mage bots to show up and grind themselves to cap to level people who bought gold. which is exactly what happened with this version of classic.
Please blizz It guarantees my sub for like 2-3 more years and easily thousands more.
Does it though? The people in this thread begging for fresh quit halfway through original classic and cancelled their subs. With multiple posts about how they will never support blizzard again.
Ravioli ravioli give us the fresh servers-oli
Sometimes people make mistakes and then seek to correct them. its human nature.
The private server community seems to like to do 1-60 plus dungeons and raids before AQ over and over again. I too remember the massive amount of quit posts and demands for fresh around that time. Lol
It absolutely blows my mind seeing some of the responses here.
The pure audacity that human beings can have. Coming in here to troll players they previously played with.
Attacking a thread they have absolutely no interest in.
I really hope you guys have something better to do with your lives than sit here for literally hours attempting to destroy a thread on a topic you have no interest in.
Really sad to see.
+Fresh. Bring it on!
Yes, always “those” types that want to derail it.
Bring on fresh Blizzard has so much support for this version of the game. Lets play it again!
Not only that.
As with the rest of the industry, retail has evolved from a subscription only model (Classic) to a multi-stream monetization scheme (subs + services + cosmetics + collectibles, etc).
A subscription-only game (like classic) needs at least one of two things to be profitable: 1) Good enough Player retention or 2) Steady player acquisition (i.e. new subs to replace those who leave).
Classic era servers will die unless merged, since most players still subbed will progress to TBC, and have zero appeal to new players.
The only way for classic to remain profitable for Blizzard is by releasing periodic fresh servers to attract new players.
As far as Retail goes for new player acquisition… the numbers speak for themselves. Subscriptions have been falling since late WotLK.
I just know your response is going to set someone off. Someone in love with retail lol.
No reason for us to be at each others throats. We can have it all.

Everyone can have their own World…of Warcraft.
This sums it up nicely. Lets all play the version we want!
the thing you’re not understanding is that classic won’t be profitable long term regardless because all the people who were curious about vanilla that didn’t play were able to play through classic now and there will be no new players to speak of. just former players and private server players. a lot of former players, i’d say the majority, will go on to tbc. the niche of a niche that private server players are won’t be profitable long term either. there aren’t enough of them. the people who want to continuously play classic as it is are already playing it. (including people like myself) unless you can magically make tons of people appear from thin air you already know what amount of people who haven’t played at all who are wiling to give it a try. because they did.
I feel Classic servers should be broken up to expansions. And can never go beyond it.
I wanted to play 1-60 only and never go over it on a Classic server. In my point of view playing a classic is playing old school how it used to be. I don’t want to mess it up with expansions.
Each classic server should have expansion bounds. Example Classic stays Classic and TBC stays TBC and WOTLK stays WOTLK. And each server has the classic expansions in divisions to prevent forced next expansion.
I want to stay in that era of Classic without a expansion messing it up.
Totally agree. Not only would periodic fresh servers attract new players, but they would also offer a way for existing players to go back and replay the content that they enjoy most. Possibly with new people, make new friends, go through more expansions together after, the possibilities open up way more for content for players and more profit for Blizzard!
I’m not sure why blizzard hasn’t realised it sooner tbh.
Everyone has a favorite version of the game. When it changes, they don’t want to play anymore haha
Makes sense to have multiple versions available.
I choose fresh!
I hear ya on this. But what would you think of periodic “Fresh Start” servers on Classic instead of just only Phase 6 “Classic Era” servers?
Meeting new people is the BEST. I don’t know every classic player but 99% of them i have met, have been amazing and I love finding another person that wants to talk about what THEY love about the game.
in what world do you think new players will just want to play classic on loop in a repeat forever without going into later versions of the game? you guys enjoy it because you’ve spent so much time doing it. but even if you got tons of new people to join in a fresh experience they wouldn’t just keep doing it over and over again. eventually they’d move to tbc or any other version of wow. especially since you guys have it min maxed to the point where new people feel they can never catch up and they’d be forced to buy gold to pay for dungeon and raid runs. which makes it seem like an infinite loop money sink.
