Frequent disconnections all of a sudden

Today I’ve logged in and been getting frequent disconnections every 5-10 minutes or so and I’m not sure what’s causing it, my internet seems to be fine as far as watching other sites and stuff and in game my latency is pretty good, same with FPS rate.

Hey there,

Lets get a look at how the connection is performing using WinMTR.

  1. Download WinMTR - https://sourceforge.net/projects/winmtr/files/WinMTR-v092.zip/download
  2. Right-click on the downloaded .zip folder and select “Extract All”, to extract the files to a new folder.
  3. Open the new folder that was created, then open the WinMTR_x32 folder.
  4. Right-click on the WinMTR application and select “Run as administrator”.
  5. Type the IP address of the game server in the “Host” field. Blizzard game IP addresses can be found in the drop-down on this page: https://battle.net/support/article/7871
  6. Click on “Start” and then launch the game. Allow the test to run for at least 10 minutes. Click on “Stop” when you’re done playing after you have experienced the latency or connection issue.
  7. Click on “Export TEXT” to save the results as a text document, then attach it to your next ticket reply.

I had been having this issue since roughly Classic release. Tracked it down to discord. If I do not have discord running Zero disconnects. Ran all day and none. As soon as I log on to Discord disconnects every 10-15 minutes followed by brief inability for people to hear me in discord but no disconnect.

So try turning off discord before you go through all the bull blizzard asks you to.

Having the same issue. I don’t use Discord at all.

The post the winmtr as directed above.

EDIT: Seems to be working now. Thanks everyone.

Your test is showing packet loss on the first hop which is generally the computer’s connection to the router\modem. Are you on a wired or wireless connection. If its the latter, are you able to test with a wired connection to see if we can clear up that packet loss?
