Looks like a bug was introduced to Classic Anniversary TBC where people are getting free Epic mount training after buying AV ram before maintenance. After maintenance they have 150/150 riding skill. Please look into this as a lot of us bought riding before maintenance and are out 540g. Seems to be trending on Reddit now and feels bad as someone who paid the gold for my mount last week.
Not a bug. If you had an epic mount in your bags before maintenance you learned epic riding automatically

It is a bug, but it’s not a harmful one.
It’s harmful to people who farmed for gold to buy it and now feel farming gold is worthless.

It really isn’t. Probably less than 100 people got a freebie. Ye kinda lame but there are many situations of people getting lucky. It’s basically a case of “I had to do the hard work and they didn’t so take theirs away” and that’s kinda just lame. Other had to grind for r14 weapons over months now boosties just get it. Should they have those taken away? Honestly it’s not a huge deal and majority have swiped for that gold anyways.

Good luck. I put in a ticket for my 30 gold back on my boosted character. I bought the mount training before they gave it to all the boosted characters.
The AI response just said get fukt we cant do anything. Tried to get a real human but, nope.
Which is stupid because I’ve played this game long enough that I know for a fact gm’s can give you stuff.

I knocked out enough quests to buy it on my alt. Late last night I brought the AV mount and riding skill. RIP me. lol

I just entered a ticket. Hoping everyone else does the same so they can’t ignore it. It took me probably 10 days farming every night for 2 hours a night to farm that gold.

Can we buy it now and get the epic riding?
I asked for a human 4 times. Kept re submitting the ticket and always got a bot response.
No actual human is going to see it.

This has little to do with “I had to suffer, so you do too!” and more about having some parity on how riding skill was given out.
If you played during Classic, you had to pay for your riding skill itself. That was no more than 100g. Then, you either had to spend up to an additional 900g -or- PvP to Rank 11 and buy the mount. If you had an Epic ground mount when the pre-patch launched, then you were given the appropriate skill level so you could keep riding it.
What happened now is that during the most recent maintenance, for some reason the “check for Epic mount and grant skill” process was re-run. No clue why they did it, or even if it was intentional.
Now, Blizzard has three options:
- Remove the skill from those who got it on login after the recent maintenance. This would be the preferred option, as those people did not earn it like the majority of the player base.
- Grant all level 60 characters Epic riding in a one-time effort. This would screw up the Riding skill gold sink, but put all level 60s on a level playing field. I doubt they’ll do this since it will screw over players who legitimately earned and paid for the skill one way or another.
- Do nothing. IMO, this is the most likely outcome if they can’t do the first option. Kinda sucks, but it is what it is.
In any way, there isn’t much you can do about it by complaining here. I’d suggest that you report the bug in-game or something.

in this case I don’t do the whole I suffered bit. Like the be paladin. I looked up upgrade charger. Guess I get to confuse some people being the level 60 killing mana worms and crap lol. and then find whatever else gives silvermoon rep.
Won’t have a bad attituded about it. Ima tell people so…if you don’t mind the xp loss I can one shot the 2 constructs and final boss for all the sub 20’s. no xp off them, quest done.
I just came back to anniversary I had 100 AV marks on both characters and didn’t buy ram because its ugly. People shouldn’t get free epic riding because they got lucky. Revert it.

Yep. Either that, or a gold seller who is afraid on missing out. Either way, 5K is excessive, and I wouldn’t be surprised if most of those that paid for the mount did it with rmt.
