Man I love that my character got transfered BEFORE the bug was found so now I can’t even level my guy on Chaos Bolt. Just stuck waiting for the single bliz employee to finish learning how to google so they can start trying to fix the problem.

Everyone on Chaos Bolt was happy. The population was fine. We had our own good community. Who is this even for? I’ve been really enjoying SOD but this is the death knell for me. I’m cancelling my sub today.

not everyone on Chaos Bolt was happy. People have been quitting on droves because they were unhappy… you just don’t see their unhappiness because they aren’t there. My entire guild rerolled but is happy now that they can just transfer their CB characters to a populated server instead.

Exactly this. What was the issue? They created this for literally nothing. Just offer a transfer off. It should have ended there. There was absolutely no reason to have the server locked.

Mega server have horrible people to play with on them, we have a good community here. Why not close Lava Lash also? They are smaller than Chaos Bolt.
Really sucks to log in and find out the server you like to play on is getting shut down and forced to go to a GDKP/Bot infested/Virgin Neckbeard/people who take this game way to seriously server.

Exactly this, people think Bc everything in their bubble is good must mean its ok for everyone else too. The truth is on this server if you cant raid between 5-7 pm ST then you just arent going to get to raid with a guild. Gnomer pugs are also really bad on this server, rarely could get past electrocutioner bc people just couldnt listen and even if they did no way in hell they would get past the last 2 bosses. Im sure happy as an afternoon shift worker il actually be able to regularly raid again and with a better talent pool of people.

I’ve been playing for what will be 17 (!) years come this next month. I gotta say, this has to be one of the STUPIDEST decisions I have ever seen come out of a Blizz dev team. EVER. I had nothing but the highest praise for SoD up until this point. It is legitimately saving WoW right now (and its sub numbers.) But this? Forcing a server to die and players to move? What the hell, Blizzard?
First of all, Crusader Strike is a streamer server populated with memes and toxicity - why would I, a Chaos Bolt player, who chose Chaos Bolt to AVOID the streamers, want to be FORCED to transfer there? Open transfers, sure! But FORCING players to move, not even by a merger, but by a slow heat death of the server by absolutely removing players’ ability to MAKE A CHARACTER on the server? Can you read between the lines and figure how many fingers I am holding up right now? Who approved this, anyway? I thought Kotick left.
Look, I get that server consolidation has to happen on Classic, but there was absolutely nothing wrong with Chaos Bolt. Was its population dying a bit - well yes, to be predicted at the tail end of a phase. Was it becoming a little one sided for the factions? Probably. But did it deserve to be outright killed with ZERO ask for input from the server community itself? No. Absolutely not!
Now, the damage has already been done, with hundreds and hundreds of players transferring off, and players unable to create new characters.
If you want to rectify this, allow RPPvPers from Chaos Bolt to transfer to a PvP server that isn’t the designated streamer server. Come on, Blizzard. You had me playing the most I’d been in years with SoD. Don’t flub it now.

Please don’t undo this. I have been checking every 10 minutes to see if it has been fixed yet because I am so excited. Anyone saying it is fun or fine is just copium, if you dont play during the few peak hours its a terrible and lonely experience with the server pop being like one city of CS. I literally rerolled on CS this week and am level 30, would be great to not have to farm profs and gear again.
