FPS has dropped by half

Good morning,

When 8.1 dropped, I saw a remarkable increase in my FPS. I went from ~50 fps to ~100 fps most of the time. And for a while, it was good. However, as of yesterday, it has dropped back down to pre-8.1 levels. For example, in Dazar’Alor I sit between 30 and 40 fps.

I hadn’t made any changes to my drivers prior to the problem, but following that I updated both my display adapters. Does anyone have any explanations for this?

I’ll include my DxDiag for reference:

I’d check the AMD software to make sure that it is still preferring high performance and maximum power consumption. New drivers often seem to reset that.

Also, the intel drivers are old, and so getting current from intel itself may help.

Sometimes switchable graphics need the integrated updates as that’s what tells it when to turn on or off.

Thank you for bringing that to light. I updated those Intel drivers this morning from the Device Manager, and it seems to have flung it back to an old version. I’ll try updating directly from their site to see if that fixes the problem.

EDIT: It seems that the Feb 2018 version for the Intel Drivers are the most recent drivers supported by Lenovo for the Y520-15IKBA. Therefore, I might be hooped until they decide to release new compatible drivers, or a new fix makes the rounds.

If anyone else had any input or workarounds, I would still very much appreciate the help.
