Forums are no longer moderated

The admins here are clowns. They are selective with who and how they enforce the rules. They aren’t consistent in their actions.

Want to test whether the forums are moderated? That’s easy. Post literally anything about multiboxers.

What happened to your post count? Did they go after you?

I can’t imagine being a blizzard forum mod is a fun job. You’re tasked with dealing with frustrated players while having crushed peanuts thrown at you as a reward. I imagine they throw their hands up a lot and say whatever.

With how little these human forum mods exist on the boards, it’s no surprise that enforcement are all over the map. Wear your infractions like medals!

You’re not wrong, there are constantly posts about political crap that isn’t take down, well as long as the posts make blizzard look good of course like the ‘Blizzard supporting BLM show’s a growth in character’

Not trying to play a game of brinkism Hamstar, just tired of how out of control the forums have been over the last several weeks.

In any case, I probably haven’t 500 posts in 15 years, so, if we’re to be suspended/banned, I am not sure I would even notice.

In any c

People are getting penalized. It’s just many people are first offenders and for first offense its only a few hours, then a day, then two, then four, then eight… Then it starts going up pretty fast eventually they quit doubling and just ban you for 1000 years.

And in fairness…you can’t prove a negative.

So, I accept that there is moderation. Thanks Moritz for your update as well.

Maybe they are actively applying their own CoC, and because they disappear, it is just hard to see.

But it is difficult to accept that with what they choose to leave in place.

Things here got markedly worse after some of the mods were released, and since the Hong Kong issue started.

Some of the stuff getting left in place is just due to the current atmosphere of things. They are trying to avoid landmines. I personally can’t blame them. They are in kind of a tough spot. Had Blitzchung not done his thing, we would probably be having a different forum right now. Blizzard could have just done their normal and ignore the political atmosphere. But the pressure was too great due to how they was forced to respond to Blitzchung unfairly gave them a bad rep. So now they have to be political in order to get some of that faith back.

I think you are correct in that incident made Blizz gun shy and hesitant about what to do to moderate the forum.

I appreciate that, and agree with you. It changed things tangibly here on what gets allowed.

Hopefully though, at some point fairly soon, they will regain the GD forum narrative at least.

They can, and I wish they would, just create an unmoderated political/cultural/social issues subforum .

Edits: correcting writing stupidity

My guess things will go back to business as usual after the election is over provided the proper side wins. If that happens some of the rioting will dull down. We might see some changes in the US because of the riots and protests with this change but they will be relatively minor. The forums here though will have zero change and everyone will go about business as usual. Just my prediction.
