Forum battletage bullying

From what I can gather OP wants to keep trolling the forums and battle tags would take away their “fun”.

It’s hilarious people think battletags are going to stop the trolling. I wish they would do it just so I can watch that fire burn.

…and most of these posters don’t come anywhere near GD, so unless you navigate away from this board, you wouldn’t know they existed.

unless you’re trying to force an opinion on stuff you haven’t done, why would you care about what people think?

Over the years I’ve seen it time and time again someone doesn’t like your opinion and they say stuff like come back when you’re max level

maybe not but I do

Maybe across all blizzard titles and all regions…? Because that can’t just be GD.

The only way anyone is less anonymous using BattleTags is if they put their real name in. Something Blizzard explicitly tells you not to do. Use the free name change to fix your mistake and the problem is solved.

there isn’t 238k active posters on this forum - that might be counting all the characters of active posts - I have about 40 maybe more on this account I could post from and they all would be in that T3 category.

It doesn’t even end either of those things, but it’s funny that someone that doesn’t post all of their public info with their post like full name and everything else tries to call others such things. Lot of projection.

No, that is what the stats for WoW say based on the new Discorse software rolled out in 2018.

Each set of game forums has a completely separate group structure/count for Trust levels.

Scroll down and look at the counts for the Trust level groups on the D3 forums.
https://us.forums.blizzard.com/en/d3/u/misscheetah-1661.json

Those actually have less than 200 active regular posters most of the time.

Each char-server has by default a separate trust level. It is NOT tied to your Battlenet account. The exception seems to be if you got put into a particular Beta group - and that seems to be granting permanent TL3 and maybe TL 3 to other charars. I have never sorted that one out totally and I can’t get Blizzard to talk about it.

We have never said stop but it will cut it back because people will be able to ignore entire accounts so when the trolls start realizing hopping from toon to toon to bypass ignores so they can continue to troll will no longer be effective.

right now no one on this forum (except blizzard) can connect my characters to each other or to my btag. No one in game can connect this character to my other characters via my btag.

You can make all the excuses you want but you aren’t being honest if you think I don’t lose by using btags on this forum. In fact, I have dumped almost everyone off my friend lists in game already just in case this happens. And the last people would go as well if they ever made any comments whatsoever to anything I posted on this forum. I have a right to my opinions but I don’t have any desire to defend them in game.

yeah I am in that group so what I said was correct. There are hundreds if not thousands of people in that group on this forum as well.

those same people also said preventing lvl 1s from posting on this forum would stop trolling.

Guess what if they added btags to the WoW forums they wouldn’t be able to connect your characters to your btag unless you accepted a friend request from them and they would only be able to see what ever toon is logged on at any given time and not those that are not logged on .

The trolling wouldn’t change at all. Have you been to the diablo forums or overwatch?

i think they should use btag for forum names and allow the hiding of acheivs/etc once thats done.

lets be real though ppl are still gonna “bully” you if you hide it. youre hiding it for a reason

all the “problems” Btags solve can be solved much more effectively with different methods. Btag isn’t about solving problems, its about a group of people wanting the power to harass, stalk, and intimidate others for having opinions different from their own.

If we got battletags they would just find something else to insult people over.

Like the hidden achievements thing.

They called it^

It would be exactly the same.

Considering the pro btag people can’t see the flaws despite them being pointed to, as well as the fact that it won’t end any of the current issues or even help nearly as much as they think; I doubt that.

Pretty ironic post from you imo.

Like you did to the OP’s post, and started in with personal attacks? Hmm… Low post count, 500 achievement points… lol.

It’s funny because they have more achievement points than you, and more forum posts by a mile.

If you knew anything then you would know most of the people that have been doing that are Blizzard themselves. You’re also not Blizzard, as much as you wish you were.

It wouldn’t, as battlenet accounts are free to make.

If one wants to get technical, the forums are discourses house. Discourse could shut it down if they wanted to and Blizzard could do nothing but scramble to get someone else to make another forums for them.

I have the beta tl3 and what I’ve noticed is if I’m off the forums for a couple weeks or so, I lose my tl3 privileges. I can generally earn them back after a couple weeks.

I’ve switched to another toon for the mog thread, or to say hi in a thread that has to do with the class/race of an alt, those characters don’t have tl3. When I hop back on this toon, it sucks that I can’t see any notifications from the other thread(s).

I’ve lost my tl3 when switching servers/names/posting toons as well, all when I’ve had tl3 with the beta tag.
