So then, why did you argue with me when I said most of their population is going to Amirdrassil and that, even if some people are left behind, I wouldn’t really count it as keeping their connection to the land?
You spent a lot of time talking about the interview that they will have multiple homes. And I pointed out repeatedly that the center of their civilization and the majority of their population moving to the Dragon Isles as “one of” their homes is absurd, given their ties to Kalimdor. Even the troll gnome dude made a point saying “Are all the Orcs moved from Outland or Draenor? No, but the Orcish horde’s home is in Durotan now.” To exemplify how a mass migration like that is a huge deal.
I even pointed out you are splitting hairs and you continued to argue the same points ad nauseam despite already being addressed. You dug yourself further in.
Once again, my position has been that Amirdrassil will be the central hub and that the Night Elves would have a continued presence in Kalimdor. The posts are still up, bro. I say it multiple times. The interview I posted was in support of that.
Yes, and MOVING THEIR POPULATION AND CULTURAL CENTER FROM KALIMDOR IS AN ENORMOUS CULTURAL SHIFT THAT IS PART OF THE PROBLEMS I OUTLINE IN THE OP
Caps for emphasis and not yelling
In other words, the story, as presented, whether you interpret it as a total migration or even just most of them migrating, is problematic in the ways that I outlined in the OP.
It is why I feel a Mok’nathel allied race would be best. For one, Blizzard does not have to make a female ogre model, so that saves them time. Plus Rexxar already uses the male Kul Tiran rig so the females can use the female Kul Tiran rig too.
But I feel that it would be an uproar like void elves were.
I know that you feel that way, you’ve made it quite clear. I don’t know what else to say to you about this, other than my opinion was always clearly stated - I was objecting to the idea that there would be no Night Elf presence on Kalimdor, and I argued that Amirdrassil will not be the only place where Night Elves live, even though it will be a hub for the race going forward. We were all debating with multiple people at the time and maybe that clouded the water for you.
Bro, as I said before, my posts are still up. I just scanned them to see if I could figure out what the heck you were talking about. I literally re-stated my position over and over and over and over and over. Did you not read it at least once?
Forgive me for missing it as I’ve only skimmed over this discussion, but do we actually have confirmation that Amirdrassil is actually going to appear on the Dragon Isles? I mean, we enter the Dream from there, but that doesn’t necessarily mean the place we wind up in the Dream coincides with the Dragon Isles, does it?
Further, does that even mean that when Amirdrassil emerges onto Azeroth, it’ll be in the exact same location? It certainly wouldn’t be the first time Blizzard has implemented the, “But this otherworldly place doesn’t abide by normal rules!” card.
The emotionally charged title of this thread aside, I can certainly understand why some night elf players might be annoyed at a relocation of what people tend to view as the ‘main racial hub.’ However, I hadn’t really seen any hard confirmation of where the new world tree would pop up on Azeroth.
It’s not only on the PTR, but on live servers as well. It happens at the end of the raid. To actually visit it, you need to complete the campaign (one step of which is to kill Fyrakk)
Nope, absolutely not. I’m going to stop you right there. The night elves have not been exiled from their homeland. Teldrissil and Darnasus may be gone, but the nigh elves still control the rest of their territory. They have made a new home for themselves in Amirdrassil. It doesn’t mean they are abandoning all of Kalimdor. They have in fact expanded their territory. I know the night elf story has not been handled with grace, but these histrionics have to end.
Then leave if it’s not getting you the outcome you want lol You are welcome to make a thread where you can discuss all the reason you think the narrative is great and not flawed. At this point if feels like people are just coming into these threads to troll and argue endlessly.
No, I just don’t like endlessly arguing the same points that ultimately don’t invalidate the main points the thread was created to discuss. You’ve made your points, many disagree that the story as written now, is faithful to the Night Elves and their history and instead think it is problematic in many ways.
In other words, your opinions have been noted and you have overstayed your welcome by constantly repeating the same things over and over despite any attempt to address them. Disagree, start your own thread if you want, and move on. Coming to this thread and berating the people who feel the same way as I do is just trolling.
