Look, right now we’re just all banner waving players trying to make points that is clearly contrast to what we think is or isn’t.
We need to realize regardless how many of these posts spring up, none of us have the final word on ‘what is or what isn’t’.
Only Blizz/CM/Devs can give us the final word, and the only word is no word right now… which, despite how much people might not like it, IS a word all on it’s own.
Only embarrassment is you trying to justify that a battleground is strictly a PvE environment.
I played more than any healthy person should between about 2005-2007 (the exact time period this is purporting to be emulating) and I personally never saw anything as egregious as the current state, but hey, maybe I was just extremely lucky. I can’t rule it out. I still say the games could be better, for both sides, but you do you.

Certainly true. Hence why this was not directed at the very people who are causing the issue. This wasn’t intended to rehabilitate the intractable. That’s why it was “Your game is broken” not “alliance, please change your ways.”
Alterac Valley is PVPVE, as it’s a PVP BG in a PVE map. I think maybe you’re confusing the battleground and the map. I’ve stated multiple times that the bg is PVPVE and the map is PVE. Reading comprehension, or possibly just general knowledge of multiplayer gaming is maybe the issue here.
It’s a contested zone. Period. Let’s just look at it like that and avoid ALL speculation. On a PvP server, contested zones flag you and PvP CAN occur.
While AV has objectives, it is not mandatory to do them.
However, the point of putting any of it there in the first place without needing to do anything other than kill the final boss is just a terrible version of the BG.
You’re claiming that 2020 Vanilla is broken. This isn’t Vanilla, fella. This is Classic. Old content running on new tech, played by players with more knowledge and a different mindset. Sorry it’s not a 1:1 match to your nostalgic needs, but it’s definitely not broken.
There also wasn’t nearly as much emphasis on picking a faction and race on PvP racial abilities.
WoW Classic didn’t break. The people did.

Actually let’s try something new. And this is for my boy Charging. Let’s put aside for a second whether or not it’s efficient, or an exploit, or even whether it’s totally intended and a fair representative of “classic” WoW. Okay? Work with me here. Put it aside for a second.
Think about all your time in Classic so far. Try to remember if there was a single AV, just one, where you actually had fun. Where you actually had a fun game once in the last 5 weeks. Now tell me: was that game a 6 minute Drek stomp?
I’ll start. I had one about a week or two ago where we were stalemated for a while, and both summoned all the creatures, and it ended up in a base race, with someone in Drek’s room calling down his health % and someone else calling down Van so you could see in real time the race. Drek hit 5% when we killed Van. That game had it all. Tons of PVP and a PVE finish and everything got capped and I swear to you, I would have called that a good game even if we lost.
The point of this thread is because of the current state, where after a long queue 90% of games are 6 minute Dreks or 40v5 premade fails, those kinds of games are few and far between. That’s not representative of “classic” WoW, and more than a little sad, and should be addressed in some fashion.

I don’t think 1.12 AV was the right choice, but it was the choice.
Edit: Also, I have fun even when I’m getting steamrolled. I don’t grind honor, and I’m already exalted. I do it because I like BGs.

Yep, stopped playing (for now) coz of that. Hoping it ends at some point. Its just lame.
Also for the ppl hammering for 1.5 AV, i played the closest thing they have in bfa during the anni event (Korraks revenge). We were blitzing Drek in a premade in that one too even with the scaling down to 60 that was done duribg the event . I think the alliance premade game would be very similar to this 1.12 version as well in classic with 1.5 AV.
