Form Customization By Spec (Like XMog)

Just a QoL change but it sure would be nice to be able to customize spec specific druid forms just like we can with XMogs.

Would be killer to have a more astral theme set of forms for balance and then when I pop in resto have more earth theme forms and then into guardian/feral more jungle theme forms, etc.

I love the bevy of customization we get for forms, but just something I would love to see changed in the next expac =)

The drake customization in DF. Give us something like that.

Totally agree. Druids need some dev cycles to rethink how we manage our forms. Being a red bear when I’m guardian, but when resto swaps to bear making it a green one—that’s QoL but also a functional advantage for my raid.

Maybe some glows that can be adjusted in the barbershop, so we don’t have three kitties and two felwerbears in raid that are indistinguishable. A hard glowly purple outline, a misty shadows enhancment, a sparkle-kitty like snow storm… could be extra coin for enchanters or inscriptionists too.

Would be kool too if some elements of our armor could “poke through” (when enabled). Like they do with Dracthyr and Worgen forms.

And we really need per-element control. Like with Balance druids. So we can add longer clasws, feathers or flowers, tusks or sabre teath, etc.

Honestly, if Blizz’d do just one “ask” from me, I’d have them shuffle their Diablo 4 art team cranking out 5 to 7 heavily monetized cash-shop-slop outfits a week, and have them properly finish implementing Dracthyr mogs and begin adding some for druid forms. They can get back to their enshiddification of Diablo 4 when they’re done.

That said, I’m just some shmuck, and I don’t get to have requests happen. If an entire race doesn’t have proper transmog yet, I can’t imagine they’d be tripping over themselves too hard to get to it with shapeshift forms. Way, way more likely we’ll just have creature forms you’ve seen about added in (like they did with the Emerald Dream animals at the end of Dragonflight).

Don’t even need to go far… The shapeshifts with actual customization are already in the game: Moonkin.

This opens precedent for upgraded baseline forms for cat, bear and travel with actual customization details like the lazer chicken had, while still keeping the option of going into an unique, non-customizable, form.

I’m just afraid that if they ever do this, they’ll be like “Oh, druids are good now for the next 10 years” before even considering adding an unique form, or - for example - the unused Runebear colors.
