I would actually put in effort towards an allied race if Ethereals were made a thing for Alliance. That being said, I really hope that Allied races are done. They had an opportunity to be bold with them and they struck out hard.

(Commentary): Mage or Druid for me I think. I like the idea of playing one of the Ardenweald Dryads, just standing back, waving my hands, and turning a battlefield into a massive chaotic storm of sorts.
I wish I could be a Priestress of the moon on my NE Priestress I got the look but I mean beeing a Hunter/Priest/Druid all at once XD (Priestress with her tiger pet)

I played a lizard in Everquest. So, I would like to see that too.
Pitlord and succubus are my first choices.
Then titan, for godly power.
And lastly an old god, for ungodly power.
Yea some of the original ones were very similar to their counterparts. Highmountain and Lightforged are hard to tell apart. Least Nightbourne and Void Elves have drastically different colors.

(Observation): Void Elves, sure, but Nightborne? If you want to play a purple skinned, white haired, tall majestic elf, you can go to whichever faction you want.

Right now I love the Venthyr and their Covenant. Venthyr Rogue is a new dream of mine within Azeroth and beyond now.
As for something currently beyond WoW lore, I would like to see WoW equivalents of the Argonians and Khajiit.
