Just curious.
I was reading a post of the General Forum and some people were stating that 678 Mythic-level weapons are superior to Forged 675 weapons because of their higher ILvls. Even if you get secondary stats that aren’t conducive/perfect for you such as Versatility.
Is this true? Is that three extra levels of 678 make them actually superior? Is it worth taking a mythic weapons from the Great Vault over your forged 675 weapon?
What say you, fellow paladins? Any and all responses are always greatly appreciated.
Short Answers: Sim it.
Longer opinionated answer: I don’t think the 3 ilvl jump justifies picking a mythic weapon over a potentially larger ilvl upgrade in another slots (minus rings/neck due to lack of primaries)

are we including embellishments in this discussion? Forged gear can have an embellishment added to them. If I recall you can equip up to 2 embellished gear.

If that’s the case, if someone used the weapon to cover that (which seems to be not a good choice to do as a melee, unless CSAA is selected) Wouldn’t the crafted weapon be better due to needing to cover embellishments?
Although I think there is indeed better slots to use embellishments. And if they do have other slots with crafted gear, then yes weapon drops would be better then crafted in this case. but only because it has 3 more ilvls mostly to maximize weapon damage (if CSAA is not selected.)
(I think embellishments brings about .8% extra dps on average)

Assuming you are doing Mythic Raids (or when we get Dinars) yes the 678 ilvl will beat the 675 crafted weapon.
That being said if a crafted weapon is usually the best option available to the most people until we get Dinars.
