I imagine it’s because “frost” is a far more common word in Warcraft than “ice”.
<< Not a troll player, but I hit “like” to support this.
I’d rather see other trolls stand together under Zandalari banner. Horde wasn’t really that good for them and Talanji is good enough option in between.
The Darkspear literally wouldn’t exist anymore without the Horde.
I’m talking about Amani, Farraki, Witherbark were especially persecured by forsaken out from Hinterlands up to Arathi with intent to wipe them out.
We also have Drakkari.
And hilariously Dark Trolls if you recall Grom mission who attacked these trolls even when they were sleeping and shown no agression. You’d think that since they alliedwith Darkspears they’d try to recruit other trolls in similar manner.
They actually did try to extend amiable relations with the Drakkari, basically just have safe passage through Zul’drak as they moved through to Icecrown but the Drakkari being Drakkari were like “REEEEEEEEEEEEE” and so the Horde just said: “Okay, have it your way” and as Danny Devito once said: “So anyway, I started blasting”
And lets not forget that Thrall extended an offer of friendship to Witherbark, Vilebranch, and Revantusk and only the Revantusk were like “Okay, we can be friends”
So the Horde does have a history of reaching a hand of friendship to tribes only to be rebuked.
PC effectively sabotaged Drakkari even back in Grizzly Hills. We allied ourselves with tratitor and on each step did everything to make scourge cause havoc. This description is very disingenous.
It wasn’t about safe passage, come on.
And really we had identical situation with niteborn. Majority allied themselves with Burning Legion and attacked us on the very sight, it didn’t stop us from helping them - and it was because ONE withered asked for help.
ONE!
Here we have faction that did everything to stop the Scourge. In this case even if they have trouble to accept outsiders is not a reason to ook them over when the scourge will benefit from it if Drakkari falls.
It’s really disappointing that such a reply is coming from troll fan.
We’re not talking about the PC, are we? The offer happened before the PC arrives in Grizzly Hills.
Being a troll fan and a horde fan is not mutually exclusive. If you think so, that’s your prerogative, I gave you examples that the Horde does quite often try to create amiable relations with other troll tribes but that didn’t suit your fancy so there’s nothing I can do.
I’m just saying that Drakkari case is far more complex than
And there are times where Horde didn’t do anything to actually have a decent relations with other trolls. I do understand that STV ones are troublesome.
But in WC3 Thrall attacked Amani unprovoked simply because he didn’t like them.
In vanilla we’re sent to wipe Witherbark for “Betraying Thrall” but they were never allied as far as I know so how could they possibly betray him if they never had any ties to him?
What is the explanation for Grom assaulting Dark trolls in Ashenvale without any attempt to speak to them at first?
I can go on and on. Sure there are examples of trolls who are absolutely beyong any redemption such as blood trolls or Atal’ai but Drakkari aren’t one of them.
Sandfury case is even more tragic as they were raided for shiny loot, which made them join Twilight Hammer. This is where Horde involvement is actually terrible.
I’m not so sure, the Horde tried to engage in friendly relations and the Drakkari responded with clear hostility, let us not forget the Drakkari are not hapless victims, they were proud and sacrificed their loa for power and engaged in hostilities with other factions while fighting against the Scourge. Of course we don’t know the specifics of the exchange because we are not there to witness it. The Drakkari and their fall is a tragedy but a tragedy of the fall of a civilization due to hubris, pride, and xenophobia
This has long been ambiguous as to whether it’s still even canon considering the later attempt to make friends with three separate forest troll tribes. I essentially disregard it because it makes no sense with subsequent lore.
We don’t know what precisely happened in the four years between WCIII and WoW, but that seemed like a buttpull by the questwriter to shimmy justification to “go kill these mobs”.
In the end I try to take things in the broader sense, the Horde has tried to be diplomatic with various troll tribes in the past
Agreed
In the end, the unfortunate fact is a lot of this comes from trolls being given the trashmob treatment, something they are only recently coming out of.
Let us not let this thread succumb to the sea of elf crying
Let us fight for more customization and sexy troll beards, brothers and sisters
Loa know I could use a good beard.
I got unlucky with the timing of making this.
But yeah, #BeardsForTrolls
It’s more than overdue.
id play a giant troll
sounds neat
You know, with the ability to switch models in the character creation screen, such as hunched-over Orcs and standing-straight Orcs, I don’t see why the burly Troll model can’t be a customization feature. I’m not sure what the female version would look like, but it would still be neat to see a burly option for those that want that style.
Posture on orcs is male only, so I imagine the female trolls would get the same shtick if the bulky model was added.
I get the idea, and I agree, but the model itself is outdated. They’d have to update that variant of the model itself and add in all the new animations. I feel it’s a bit much to ask, but it’d be cool. It’s certainly possible, just very unlikely sadly.
I don’t see why Forest Trolls shouldn’t be part of the troll customization considering there’s sand troll skintone and they’re enemies.
Racials, voice lines, mount, tabard, ect.
No one coulda seen dat coming. Don’t be too hard on yourself.
Farraki trolls should be their own thing as well, but customization is the best we’ll get sadly. So, we’re rooting for Revantusk forest trolls to be customization as well, and humoring the idea of an AR, since that’s what they should be.
I agree that they should be AR just like I think Dark Rangers/San’layn should be. I’m just facing that fact that I’m probably going to have to settle with customization for Blood Elves.
